你看，就是船隻雖那麼大，又被強硬的風催逼着，也能被小小的舵所調導，向掌舵者的意思所願去的方向走。

看哪，船只虽然甚大，又被大风催逼，只用小小的舵，就随着掌舵的意思转动。

再看船只，虽然甚大，又被强风猛吹，只用小小的舵就随着掌舵的意思转动。

一艘大船在遭遇暴风吹袭时，船身虽然庞大，但舵手只要操纵一个小小的舵，就能随意驾驶它。

再看船只，虽然它那么大，又被狂风吹逐，但是无论舵手的意图想去哪里，它都能被小小的舵来驾驭。

舟雖大、且為狂風飄蕩、而小舵得以運轉、隨舵師所欲、

舟身雖大、且為暴風所驅、而舵師宴然把一小舵、亦能駕駛自如。

Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

And how about ships? They are very big. They are driven along by strong winds. But they are steered by a very small rudder. It makes them go where the captain wants to go.

Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.

And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong.

And consider ships: Though very large and driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.

Look at the ships too: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are nevertheless directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot determines.

Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.

Behold, the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, are yet turned about by a very small rudder, whither the impulse of the steersman willeth.

他吩咐一聲，狂風就起立，海中的波浪就揚起。他們上到天空，下到深淵底，他們的神魂都因危難而消失。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他們的技能都被吞沒於無用。

然而永恆主卻將大風拋擲在海上，海上就起了大風暴；船很像要破壞的樣子。

過不多時、有一種東北颱風叫友拉革羅撲下來。船被掣住了，不能頂着風，我們便把船放棄，任它飄蕩着。我們貼着一個小島叫高大的背風岸奔行，僅僅能把持住了艇子。水手們既把艇子拉上來，就用纜索捆住船的下部；又恐怕撞在賽耳底沙灘上，就縋下船具，這樣地任它飄蕩着。我們被風浪逼得極緊，次日眾人就直進行拋出貨物的事；第三天便親手把船上的用具也拋棄了。好多天不見有太陽，也不見有星星，又有不小的暴風雨緊逼着，從此我們得救的指望就被奪了去了。眾人已有許多日子沒有喫東西了，於是保羅就站在他們中間說：『同人們，你們本該聽從我才對，不該從革哩底開船，來賺得這場損害和虧損的！但是如今、我還勸告你們要振作精神；因為除了損失這船，你們中間必沒有性命之喪失。因為我所屬所事奉的上帝、他的一個使者昨夜站在我旁邊說：「保羅、別怕了：你必須站在該撒面前；看吧，上帝已將跟你一同航行的人都賜給你了」。所以同人們，你們要振作精神；我信上帝，我信所告訴我的怎樣，事情也必怎樣。不過我們必須撞在一個海島上。』到了第十四天夜裏，我們在亞底亞海飄來飄去。約當半夜、水手猜想是漸近旱地了，就拋測錘，得二十尋；稍隔開些、再拋測錘，得十五尋。恐怕撞到石頭地上，就從船尾拋下四個錨，祈願着天亮。水手想法子要從船上逃出，便把艇子縋下海裏，假裝要從船頭伸纜拉錨去下的樣子。保羅對百夫長和士兵說：『這些人若不留在船上，你們就不能得救。』於是士兵把艇子的繩索砍掉，由它飄去。從那時直到天快亮、保羅直勸眾人用飯，說：『你們期待着、一直不喫，不取用甚麼，今天第十四天了。所以我勸你們總要用飯；這是與你們之得救有關的。因為你們各人連一根頭髮也不至於失掉。』說了這些話，他便拿着餅，當眾人面前祝謝上帝，擘開來喫。於是眾人都振作精神，都自己取用飯食了。我們在船上的、有二百七十六個人。眾人喫飽了飯以後，就將五穀拋出海裏，讓船輕點兒。

海裏忽然起了大風暴，甚至船都給波浪掩蓋着；耶穌卻逕自睡着。
