For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

因为听道而不行道的，就像人对着镜子看自己本来的面目，

因为只听道而不行道的，就像人对着镜子观看自己本来的面目，

因为只听道而不行道的，就像人对着镜子观看自己本来的面目，

因为人听道而不行道，就像照镜子一样，

因为人若只作听道的人，不作行道的人，他就像一个人对着镜子看自己本来的面貌，

因为，如果有人是这话语的听者，而不是实行者，这个人就像人对着镜子观看自己生来的面貌，

因為聽道而不行道的，就像人對着鏡子看自己本來的面目，

因為只聽道而不行道的，就像人對着鏡子觀看自己本來的面目，

因為只聽道而不行道的，就像人對着鏡子觀看自己本來的面目，

因為人聽道而不行道，就像照鏡子一樣，

因為人若只作聽道的人，不作行道的人，他就像一個人對著鏡子看自己本來的面貌，

因為人若只是聽道、而不實行，就像一個人用鏡子察看自己生來的面貌。

因為，如果有人是這話語的聽者，而不是實行者，這個人就像人對著鏡子觀看自己生來的面貌，

蓋聞道而不行者、猶人觀本來面目於鏡、

聞而不行者、譬人以鏡鑒面、

蓋聞道而不行者、譬諸人以鏡觀己之本來面目、

若是之人、猶如以鑑自照、

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror

Suppose someone listens to the word but doesn’t do what it says. Then they are like a person who looks at their face in a mirror.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.

For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.

Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:

Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror.

For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

What[ doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be[ ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what[ doth it] profit?Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent[ them] out another way?For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee[ as] my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love,[ but] their heart goeth after their covetousness.And, lo, thou[ art] unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

[ As for] the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
