驕陽升起，草就乾枯，花也凋謝，美麗就消失了。富有的人在忙忙碌碌中也會如此衰殘。

日出曝之、草枯花謝、其美亡矣、富者必衰亦如是、

烈日以曝之、毒熱以薰之、而草槁矣、而花落矣、而其美亡矣。富貴之終歸衰落亦復如是。

For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

The sun rises. Its burning heat dries up the plants. Their blossoms fall. Their beauty is destroyed. In the same way, rich people will fade away. They fade away even as they go about their business.

For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements.

For the sun rises and, together with the scorching wind, dries up the grass; its flower falls off, and its beautiful appearance perishes. In the same way, the rich person will wither away while pursuing his activities.

耶和華吹一口氣，草就枯乾，花也凋殘。人類誠然像草。草必枯乾，花必凋殘，唯有我們上帝的話永遠長存。」

可以承受那不會朽壞、沒有污點、不會衰殘、為你們存留在天上的產業。

耶穌又講了一個比喻，說：「有一個富翁，他的田裡大豐收，於是心裡盤算，『我儲藏農產的地方不夠了，怎麼辦呢？』於是他說，『不如把原有的倉庫拆掉，建幾座更大的，好儲藏我所有的糧食和財物！那時，我就可以對自己說，「你積存這麼多財產，一生享用不盡，現在大可高枕無憂、盡情地吃喝玩樂吧！」』但上帝對他說，『無知的人啊！今晚就要取走你的命！你所預備的一切留給誰享用呢？』」耶穌說：「這就是那些只顧為自己積財、在上帝面前卻不富足之人的寫照。」

我的心被摧殘，如草枯萎，以致我不思飲食。

耶穌又說：「有個財主天天衣著華麗，生活奢侈。又有一個名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上長滿了膿瘡，被人放在財主家門口。他渴望吃到財主桌上掉下來的食物殘渣，卻只有狗來舔他的瘡。「後來，乞丐死了，天使帶他到亞伯拉罕身邊。財主也死了，被人埋葬了。他在陰間受折磨，抬頭遠遠地看見亞伯拉罕和他身邊的拉撒路，就喊著說，『我的先祖亞伯拉罕啊！求你可憐我，派拉撒路用指尖蘸點水來潤潤我的舌頭吧！我在這火中實在痛苦不堪。』「亞伯拉罕說，『孩子啊！你要想想，你生前享福，而拉撒路受苦；如今他在這裡得到安慰，而你受折磨。

然而因為沒有根，被太陽一曬就枯萎了；

被太陽一曬，就枯萎了；

我見過邪惡殘暴之人，乍看如蔥蘢的黎巴嫩香柏樹，再一看，他已經消失得無影無蹤，無處可尋。

你們這些富有的人啊！為那將要臨到你們身上的災難痛哭哀號吧！你們的財物朽壞了，衣服也被蟲蛀了。你們的金銀生了鏽，那鏽必要指控你們，像火一樣吞噬你們的身體。在末世的日子裡，你們只知道積攢財寶。工人替你們收割莊稼，你們卻剋扣他們的工錢。那工錢發出不平的呼喊，工人的冤聲已經傳到萬軍之主的耳中了。你們在世上奢侈享樂，在被宰殺的日子裡，把自己養得肥肥胖胖。你們冤枉好人、殘害無辜，他們也沒有反抗。弟兄姊妹，你們要一直忍耐到主來。你們看農夫怎樣耐心等候地裡寶貴的出產，等候秋雨和春雨的降臨。

享用世界之物的，不要沉溺其中，因為現今的世界很快就要過去了。

我的生命就像黃昏的影子，又如枯乾的草芥。

第二天黎明的時候，上帝卻安排了一條蟲來咬這棵蓖麻，蓖麻就枯萎了。太陽出來的時候，上帝颳起燥熱的東風，烈日把約拿曬得發昏，他就再次求死說：「我死了比活著還好！」

他營養充足，骨骼健壯。有人至死心中苦痛，從未嚐過幸福的滋味。二者都埋入塵土，被蛆蟲覆蓋。我知道你們的想法，並那些冤枉我的詭計。你們問，『權貴的房子如今何在？惡人住的帳篷今在何方？』難道你們沒有問過旅客，不接受他們的說法？就是惡人在災難之日得到倖免，在上帝發怒之日得以逃脫。

你把他們放在容易滑倒的地方，使他們落入毀滅中。他們頃刻間被毀滅，在恐怖中徹底滅亡。他們不過是人醒來後的一場夢。主啊，你一行動，他們必灰飛煙滅。

他們倚靠金錢、誇耀財富，卻不能救贖自己的生命，也無法向上帝付生命的贖價。因為生命的贖價高昂，無人付得起，以致可以永遠活著，不進墳墓。眾所周知，即使智者也要死去，愚人和庸者也要滅亡，將他們的財富留給別人。儘管他們用自己的名字來為產業命名，墳墓卻是他們永遠的歸宿，世代的住處。人不能長享富貴，終必死去，與獸無異。這就是愚昧人及其追隨者的下場！（細拉）他們註定要死，與羊無異，死亡是他們的牧者；到了早晨，他們必被正直人管轄，他們的軀體必朽爛在墳墓裡，遠離自己的豪宅。

人怎樣從母腹空空而來，也必照樣空空而去；勞碌一生，什麼也不能帶走。

以法蓮酒徒引以為榮的華冠有禍了！它座落在醉酒者肥美的山谷頂上，它的榮美如將殘之花。

他們不再饑渴，也不再被熱風和烈日灼傷，因為憐憫他們的那位必引導他們，領他們到泉水邊。

那肥美山谷上將殘的榮美之花，必像夏季到來之前早熟的無花果，人一看見它就把它摘去吞掉。

等到大牧長顯現的時候，你們必得到永不衰殘的榮耀冠冕。
