Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.

This wickedness is like a brushfire. It burns not only briers and thorns but also sets the forests ablaze. Its burning sends up clouds of smoke.

「萬軍之耶和華說，『那日要來臨了，就像燒紅的火爐，所有狂妄自大、作惡多端的人都要像碎稭一樣被火燒盡，連根帶枝，蕩然無存。

烈火怎樣燒毀森林，火焰怎樣吞沒山嶺，

他們的根必朽爛，花朵如飛塵飄落，就像火焰吞滅禾稭，燒盡乾草，因為他們厭棄以色列之聖者的訓誨，藐視萬軍之耶和華的言語。

你們像糾結的荊棘，又像酩酊大醉的人，要如乾稭被火燒盡。

世界末日的時候也是這樣。天使必把惡人從義人中揀出來，丟在火爐裡，讓惡人在那裡哀哭切齒。

民眾因為困難而發怨言，傳到耶和華耳中。耶和華聽見後便向他們發怒，使火在他們中間燃燒，燒毀了營地的邊緣部分。民眾呼求摩西，摩西便向耶和華禱告，火就熄了。那地方叫他備拉，因為耶和華的火曾在他們中間燃燒。

因為這是耶和華報應的日子，是祂為錫安報仇之年。以東的河流要變為瀝青，土壤要變成硫磺，大地要成為燃燒的瀝青，晝夜燃燒，濃煙滾滾，永不止息。以東必世世代代荒廢，人蹤絕跡。

耶和華必使人聽見祂威嚴的聲音，在憤怒、烈焰、暴雨、雷轟和冰雹中讓人看見祂降罰的臂膀。

因為這是大惡，是當受審判的罪，是燒向滅亡的火焰，會吞噬我所有家業。

列邦必被燒成灰燼，好像割下的荊棘被火焚燒。」

焚燒之地——陀斐特早已為亞述王預備好了，那裡又寬又深，堆著許多木柴，耶和華的氣必如同一股硫磺火點燃那些木柴。

以下是主耶和華讓我看見的異象：看啊，主耶和華降下審判的大火。大火燒乾了深海，正在吞噬土地。

但惡人必滅亡，上帝的仇敵必像野地枯萎的花草，消逝如煙。

因為耶和華要用火和劍審判世人，殺死許多人。耶和華說：「那些奉獻自己、潔淨自己的人一個接一個進園中祭拜假神，又吃豬肉、老鼠及其他可憎之物，他們必一同滅亡。

你要對南地的樹林說，『你要聽耶和華的話。主耶和華說，我要在你那裡燃起火來，燒毀你所有的青樹和枯樹。這不熄的烈火要從南到北燒焦一切。這樣，世人便知道這烈火是我耶和華點燃的，它絕不會熄滅。』」

我的怒火已經點燃，要燒到陰間的盡頭，吞滅大地及其出產，甚至燒毀山的根基。

我要趕出從北方來的軍隊，把他們驅逐到一個乾旱荒蕪的地方，把他們的領頭部隊趕進死海，再把他們的殿後部隊趕進地中海，那時他們必臭氣沖天、腥味騰空，因為耶和華為你們行了大事。」

祂發怒，誰能站立？祂發烈怒，誰能承受？祂的憤怒如火焰噴湧而出，磐石在祂面前崩裂。

你們中間有權勢的人必因他們的惡行而遭毀滅，好像火花點燃枯木，無人能救。

如果你一隻手使你犯罪，就砍掉它！

我不再向它發怒。若是發現荊棘和蒺藜，我就對付它們，把它們燒光。

若長出來的盡是荊棘和蒺藜，就毫無價值，它會面臨被咒詛的危險，最後必遭焚燒。

「王又對左邊的人說，『你們這些被咒詛的人，走開！到專為魔鬼及其使者預備的永遠不滅的火裡去吧！

因此，主——萬軍之耶和華必使亞述王強健的士兵疾病纏身，使火焰吞噬他的榮耀。以色列的光必成為火焰，他們的聖者必成為烈火，一日之間燒光亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜。他茂盛的樹林和肥美的田園必被徹底摧毀，猶如病人漸漸消亡。

他們受煎熬所發出的煙不斷上升，永無休止。那些拜獸、獸像和接受了獸名印記的人晝夜不得安寧。」

他們像晨霧，如轉瞬即逝的朝露，像麥場上飛旋而去的糠秕，又像窗口冒出的輕煙。
