沒有信，就不能得到神的喜悅；因為來到神面前的人，必須信神存在，並且信他會賞賜那些尋求他的人。

第二天早晨，眾人清早起來，出發到提哥亞的曠野去；他們正出去的時候，約沙法站起來，說：“猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，你們要聽我的話；信靠耶和華你們的神，你們就必堅立；信靠他的先知，你們就必亨通。”

不錯，他們因為不信而被折下來，你因著信才站立得住。只是不可心高氣傲，倒要存畏懼的心。

所以，各位請放心。我相信神對我怎樣說，也必怎樣成就。

因此，以色列的聖者這樣說：“因為你們棄絕了這話，反而信賴欺壓和乖僻的手段，更以此為倚靠，所以這罪孽對於你們，必像一道有了裂縫，且凸了出來，快要倒塌的高牆，在頃刻之間，就突然倒塌。它的倒塌好像窰匠的瓦器破碎一般，毫不顧惜被徹底粉碎，甚至在碎塊中找不到一塊，可以用來從爐裡取火，或從池中舀水。”

暗利用六十公斤銀子，向撒瑪購買了撒瑪利亞山。他在山上建造一城，按山的原主撒瑪的名，給他所建造的城起名叫撒瑪利亞。暗利行耶和華看為惡的事，比他以前所有的王更厲害。他行尼八的兒子耶羅波安的一切路，犯了耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪中的那罪；以他們虛無的神惹耶和華以色列的神發怒。暗利其餘的事蹟，他所行的和他所表現的英勇事蹟，不是都記在以色列諸王的年代誌上嗎？暗利與他的列祖同睡，埋葬在撒瑪利亞。他的兒子亞哈接續他作王。猶大王亞撒第三十八年，暗利的兒子亞哈登基作以色列王。暗利的兒子亞哈在撒瑪利亞作以色列王，共二十二年。

“這子民既然厭棄了西羅亞緩流的水，卻喜悅利汛和利瑪利的兒子，因此，主必使大河又強又大的水臨到他們，就是亞述王和他一切威榮，水必漲起來，高過所有的水道；水要氾濫，漫過所有的河岸；然後必沖入猶大，漲溢氾濫，直到頸項，以馬內利啊！它展開的翅膀必遮遍你廣闊的地土。”

但百夫長寧願相信船長和船主的話，卻不相信保羅所說的。

猶大王亞撒利雅在位第五十二年，利瑪利的兒子比加在撒瑪利亞作王統治以色列共二十年。
