沒有信心的人不能得到上帝的喜悅，因為來到上帝面前的人必須相信上帝存在，並相信祂會賞賜一切尋求祂的人。

第二天清晨，眾人起來去提哥亞的曠野。他們出發的時候，約沙法站著說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民啊，請聽我說！要信靠你們的上帝耶和華，你們就必堅立；要相信祂的先知，你們就必得勝。」

不錯，他們因為不信被折了下來，而你因為信被接了上去，然而不要自高，要敬畏上帝。

所以請各位放心，我深信上帝所說的話必然會成就。

暗利用了六十八公斤銀子向撒瑪買了撒瑪利亞山，在上面建了一座城，按原來主人撒瑪的名字稱之為撒瑪利亞。暗利做耶和華視為惡的事，比以前的諸王更壞。他步尼八的兒子耶羅波安的後塵，使以色列人陷入罪中，祭拜假神，惹以色列的上帝耶和華發怒。暗利其他的事及其一切所作所為都記在以色列的列王史上。暗利與祖先同眠後葬在撒瑪利亞，他兒子亞哈繼位。亞撒做猶大王第三十八年，暗利的兒子亞哈登基做以色列王，他在撒瑪利亞執政二十二年。

「因為這些人拒絕接受我如西羅亞河緩緩流水般的溫柔照顧，反倒因與利迅和利瑪利的兒子結盟而歡喜，我要差來亞述王的軍隊，使他們像幼發拉底河的洪流一樣洶湧而來，淹沒一切水道，漫過河岸，席捲猶大，使整個猶大幾遭滅頂之災。他必展開雙翼橫掃你的土地。」願上帝與我們同在！

但那百夫長只相信船主和舵手的話，不接受保羅的勸告。

猶大王亞撒利雅執政第五十二年，利瑪利的兒子比加在撒瑪利亞登基做以色列王，執政二十年。
