It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come.

I decided it was time to pay back Israel’s enemies. The year for me to set my people free had come.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption had come.

For the time has come for me to avenge my people, to ransom them from their oppressors.

Tell those who have a fearful heart,“ Be strong! Don’t be afraid! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, God’s retribution. He will come and save you.

“ Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her.”

Every mountain and island were moved out of their places.The kings of the earth, the princes, the commanding officers, the rich, the strong, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.They told the mountains and the rocks,“ Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?”

For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
