‘ Now hear this, you foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see, Who have ears but do not hear.

To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the Lord has become for them a rebuke; They take no delight in it.

And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed.

But they refused to pay attention, and turned a stubborn shoulder and plugged their ears from hearing.

“ But Jeshurun became fat and kicked— You have become fat, thick, and obstinate— Then he abandoned God who made him, And rejected the Rock of his salvation.

They have closed their unfeeling hearts, With their mouths they speak proudly.

For the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes— the prophets; And He has covered your heads— the seers.

Why, Lord, do You cause us to stray from Your ways And harden our heart from fearing You? Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.

But Sihon king of Heshbon was not willing for us to pass through his land; for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, in order to hand him over to you, as he is today.

nor to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. But I have sent you to the people who understand you;yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. The entire house of Israel certainly is stubborn and obstinate.Behold, I have made your face just as hard as their faces, and your forehead just as hard as their foreheads.Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, since they are a rebellious house.”Moreover, He said to me,“ Son of man, take into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and listen closely.Go to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or not,‘ This is what the Lord God says.’ ”

Their heart is insensitive, like fat, But I delight in Your Law.

And as for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.

So Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh; yet the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

And the Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the Lord, and He will respond to their pleas and heal them.

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to let them go.

to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
