“愚昧无知的民哪！你们有眼不能看，有耳不能听；你们应当听这话：

我可以向谁说话，向谁警告，使他们可以听从呢？他们的耳朵未受割礼，不能听闻；看哪！他们以耶和华的话为羞辱，一点也不喜欢。

光来到世上，世人因为自己的行为邪恶，不爱光倒爱黑暗，定他们罪的原因，就在这里。凡作恶的都恨光，不来接近光，免得他的恶行暴露出来。

但他们不肯听从，反而硬着颈项，充耳不闻（“反而硬着颈项，充耳不闻”直译是“转着固执的肩膊，使自己的耳朵发沉不听”）。

但耶书仑肥胖了，就踢跳，‘你肥胖了，你粗壮了，你饱满了，’他离弃了造他的神，轻看了救他的磐石。

他们闭塞了怜悯的心（“怜悯的心”原文作“他们的脂油”），口里说出骄傲的话。

因为耶和华把沉睡的灵，倾倒在你们身上；他紧闭你们的眼，就是先知；蒙盖你们的头，就是先见。

耶和华啊！你为什么使我们走错，离开你的道路？使我们的心刚硬，不敬畏你呢？求你为你众仆人的缘故，为你产业的各支派的缘故，回心转意吧！

但是希实本王西宏不肯让我们从他那里经过，因为耶和华我们的神使他的心意顽固，使他的心刚硬，为要把他交在你的手里，像今日一样。

不是到说话难明、言语难懂的众多民族那里去，他们的话是你听不懂的。但是，如果我差派你到他们那里去，他们必听从你。以色列家却不肯听从你，因为他们不肯听从我，整个以色列家都是额坚心硬的。看哪！我要使你的脸像他们的脸一样坚硬，使你的前额像他们的前额一样坚硬。我要使你的额好像最坚硬的宝石，比火石更硬。他们虽然是叛逆的民族，你却不要怕他们，在他们面前，也不要惊惶。”他又对我说：“人子啊！我对你说的一切话，你都要留心听，记在心里。你去，到被掳的人民那里，向他们宣讲；他们或听或不听，你只要对他们说：‘主耶和华这样说。’”

他们的心麻木如同脂油，我却喜欢你的律法。

看哪，我要使埃及人的心刚硬，他们就必跟着以色列人下去；这样，我必在法老和他的全军身上，以及他的马车和马兵身上得到荣耀。

摩西和亚伦在法老面前行了这一切神迹；但耶和华使法老的心刚硬，所以他不肯让以色列人离开他的地。

耶和华必击打埃及，既击打、又医治，他们就回转归向耶和华，他必应允他们的祷告，医治他们。

我要使法老心硬，我也要在埃及地加增我的神迹奇事。

但耶和华使法老心里刚硬，因此他不愿意让他们离开。

对于灭亡的人，这是死亡的气味叫人死；对于得救的人，这却是生命的香气使人活。这些事谁够资格作呢？

所以你们应当悔改归正，使你们的罪得着涂抹。
