Whose confidence will break apart, Whose trust is a spider’s web.He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.

Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works,“ Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered.Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”

Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God.”But as for me, I am full of power by Yahweh’s Spirit, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice, and pervert all equity.They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say,“ Isn’t Yahweh among us? No disaster will come on us.”

Yahweh, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you“ Violence!” and will you not save?Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.

Those who put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

Because you say,‘ I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.

In that day, I will punish all those who leap over the threshold, who fill their master’s house with violence and deceit.

Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness. You don’t fast today so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry of distress.

But lately my people have risen up as an enemy. You strip the robe and clothing from those who pass by without a care, returning from battle.

No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.

Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.
