Isn’t this the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?

“我所拣选的禁食不是要松开凶恶的绳，解下轭上的索，使被欺压的得自由，折断一切的轭吗？

我所要的禁食，岂不是要你松开凶恶的绳，解开轭上的索，使被欺压的得自由，折断一切的轭吗？

我所要的禁食，岂不是要你松开凶恶的绳，解开轭上的索，使被欺压的得自由，折断一切的轭吗？

“‘我要的禁食是，除去罪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，折断一切的轭，使受欺压的人得到自由，

我所拣选的禁食不是这样吗？不是要松开凶恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，使被压迫的获得自由，折断所有的轭吗？

我所喜悦的禁食，难道不是以下这样吗？松开邪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，使被欺压的人得自由，折断一切的轭，

我所揀選的禁食不是要鬆開凶惡的繩，解下軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

「『我要的禁食是，除去罪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，折斷一切的軛，使受欺壓的人得到自由，

我所揀選的禁食不是這樣嗎？不是要鬆開兇惡的鎖鍊，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的獲得自由，折斷所有的軛嗎？

『豈不是打開兇惡的銬鐐，解下軛上的繩索，使被壓制的得自由，折斷一切的軛麼？

我所喜悅的禁食，難道不是以下這樣嗎？鬆開邪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的人得自由，折斷一切的軛，

我所選之禁食、豈非釋凶惡之索、解人之負、縱受屈者自逸、而折諸軛乎、

為強暴故拘繫者、當縱之自逸、釋人重負、伸人屈抑、折人衡軛、禁食若此、我何不喜。

釋兇暴之繩、解欺壓之索、釋受虐者、折一切壓人之軛、如是之禁食、始為我所悅、

“ Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

“ Here is the way I want you to fast.“ Set free those who are held by chains without any reason. Untie the ropes that hold people as slaves. Set free those who are crushed. Break every evil chain.

“ Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?

“ No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people.

Is this not the fast that I choose: To release the bonds of wickedness, To undo the ropes of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke?

“ Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Isn’t the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?

[ Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

No, this is the kind of fast I want. I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke.

“ Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

Even I, as well as my brothers and my servants, have been lending them money and grain. Please, let’s stop charging this interest.Return their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses to them immediately, along with the percentage of the money, grain, new wine, and fresh oil that you have been assessing them.”They responded,“ We will return these things and require nothing more from them. We will do as you say.” So I summoned the priests and made everyone take an oath to do this.

At that time, when you call, the LORD will answer; when you cry out, he will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you get rid of the yoke among you, the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,

All who are under the yoke as slaves should regard their own masters as worthy of all respect, so that God’s name and his teaching will not be blasphemed.

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD after King Zedekiah made a covenant with all the people who were in Jerusalem to proclaim freedom to them.As a result, each was to let his male and female Hebrew slaves go free, and no one was to enslave his fellow Judean.All the officials and people who entered into covenant to let their male and female slaves go free— in order not to enslave them any longer— obeyed and let them go free.Afterward, however, they changed their minds and took back their male and female slaves they had let go free and forced them to become slaves again.

You hate good and love evil. You tear off people’s skin and strip their flesh from their bones.You eat the flesh of my people after you strip their skin from them and break their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron.”Then they will cry out to the LORD, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time because of the crimes they have committed.
