他們天天尋求我，喜愛認識我的道路，好像行公義的國民，不離棄自己神的法規；他們向我求問公義的判斷，喜愛在神的近旁；

彼日尋我、樂知我道、求我示以義律、悅親上帝有若行義之民、未違上帝之律、

彼日崇事余、求我道、詰我法、欣然詣我前、幾與行義之民、不違上帝無異。

彼眾日日尋求我、願明我道、似乎行義之民、不違其天主法度者、以義理求問於我、悅與天主相近、

For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them.

Day after day they worship me. They seem ready and willing to know how I want them to live. They act as if they were a nation that does what is right. They act as if they have not turned away from my commands. They claim to want me to give them fair decisions. They seem ready and willing to come near and worship me.

Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.

Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me.

They seek me day after day and delight to know my ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not abandon the justice of their God. They ask me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”

Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.

Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God.

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.

They seek Me day after day and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not abandon the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”

主說：因為這百姓親近我，用嘴唇尊敬我，心卻遠離我；他們敬畏我，不過是領受人的吩咐。

他們說是認識神，行事卻和他相背；本是可憎惡的，是悖逆的，在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。

假冒為善的人哪，以賽亞指着你們說的預言是不錯的。他說：這百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，心卻遠離我；他們將人的吩咐當作道理教導人，所以拜我也是枉然。」

雅各家，稱為以色列名下，從猶大水源出來的，當聽我言！你們指着耶和華的名起誓，提說以色列的神，卻不憑誠實，不憑公義。他們自稱為聖城的人，所倚靠的是名為萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神。

所以，你們要脫去一切的污穢和盈餘的邪惡，存溫柔的心領受那所栽種的道，就是能救你們靈魂的道。只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己。

約翰是點着的明燈，你們情願暫時喜歡他的光。

惡人獻祭，為耶和華所憎惡；正直人祈禱，為他所喜悅。

你們行詭詐自害；因為你們請我到耶和華－你們的神那裏，說：『求你為我們禱告耶和華－我們神，照耶和華－我們的神一切所說的告訴我們，我們就必遵行。』

對先知耶利米說：「求你准我們在你面前祈求，為我們這剩下的人禱告耶和華－你的神。我們本來眾多，現在剩下的極少，這是你親眼所見的。

他們來了，就對他說：「夫子，我們知道你是誠實的，甚麼人你都不徇情面；因為你不看人的外貌，乃是誠誠實實傳神的道。納稅給凱撒可以不可以？

因為希律知道約翰是義人，是聖人，所以敬畏他，保護他，聽他講論，就多照着行，並且樂意聽他。

「人子啊，你本國的子民在牆垣旁邊、在房屋門口談論你。弟兄對弟兄彼此說：『來吧！聽聽有甚麼話從耶和華而出。』他們來到你這裏如同民來聚會，坐在你面前彷彿是我的民。他們聽你的話卻不去行；因為他們的口多顯愛情，心卻追隨財利。他們看你如善於奏樂、聲音幽雅之人所唱的雅歌，他們聽你的話卻不去行。看哪，所說的快要應驗；應驗了，他們就知道在他們中間有了先知。」

「你們對我說的話，耶和華都聽見了。耶和華對我說：『這百姓的話，我聽見了；他們所說的都是。惟願他們存這樣的心敬畏我，常遵守我的一切誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永遠得福。

耶和華說：你們所獻的許多祭物與我何益呢？公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油，我已經夠了；公牛的血，羊羔的血，公山羊的血，我都不喜悅。你們來朝見我，誰向你們討這些，使你們踐踏我的院宇呢？你們不要再獻虛浮的供物。香品是我所憎惡的；月朔和安息日，並宣召的大會，也是我所憎惡的；作罪孽，又守嚴肅會，我也不能容忍。你們的月朔和節期，我心裏恨惡，我都以為麻煩；我擔當，便不耐煩。你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看；就是你們多多地祈禱，我也不聽。你們的手都滿了殺人的血。

論到那些已經蒙了光照、嘗過天恩的滋味、又於聖靈有分，並嘗過神善道的滋味、覺悟來世權能的人，若是離棄道理，就不能叫他們重新懊悔了。因為他們把神的兒子重釘十字架，明明地羞辱他。

你們親近神，神就必親近你們。有罪的人哪，要潔淨你們的手！心懷二意的人哪，要清潔你們的心！

所以，你們既除去一切的惡毒、詭詐，並假善、嫉妒，和一切毀謗的話，就要愛慕那純淨的靈奶，像才生的嬰孩愛慕奶一樣，叫你們因此漸長，以致得救。

那撒在石頭地上的，就是人聽了道，立刻歡喜領受，但他心裏沒有根，不過是暫時的，及至為道遭了患難，或是受了逼迫，立刻就跌倒了。

百姓卻在所當滅的物中，取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻與耶和華－你的神。」撒母耳說：耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？聽命勝於獻祭；順從勝於公羊的脂油。悖逆的罪與行邪術的罪相等；頑梗的罪與拜虛神和偶像的罪相同。你既厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作王。掃羅對撒母耳說：「我有罪了，我因懼怕百姓，聽從他們的話，就違背了耶和華的命令和你的言語。現在求你赦免我的罪，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華。」
