Among the smooth[ stones] of the stream[ is] thy portion; they, they[ are] thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

溪中光石、乃爾所得、為爾之業、為之灌奠、而獻素祭、爾既行此、我豈能不怒乎、

谷中光石、爾崇拜以為己分、爾奉事以為當然、亦為之灌奠獻祭、此事我豈能容忍、

The idols among the smooth stones of the ravines are your portion; indeed, they are your lot. Yes, to them you have poured out drink offerings and offered grain offerings. In view of all this, should I relent?

You have chosen some of the smooth stones in the valleys to be your gods. You have joined yourselves to them. You have even poured out drink offerings to them. You have given grain offerings to them. So why should I take pity on you?

Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion; they, they, are your lot; to them you have poured out a drink offering, you have brought a grain offering. Shall I relent for these things?

Your gods are the smooth stones in the valleys. You worship them with liquid offerings and grain offerings. They, not I, are your inheritance. Do you think all this makes me happy?

Your portion is among the smooth stones of the wadi; indeed, they are your lot. You have even poured out a drink offering to them; you have offered a grain offering; should I be satisfied with these?

Your portion is among the smooth stones of the wadi; indeed, they are your lot. You have even poured out a drink offering to them; you have offered a grain offering; should I be satisfied with these?

Among the smooth stones of the stream are the idols you love; they, they are the object of your devotion. You pour out liquid offerings to them, you make an offering. Because of these things I will seek vengeance.

Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion. They, they are your lot. You have even poured a drink offering to them. You have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?

And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead[ their] dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it[ is] laid over with gold and silver, and[ there is] no breath at all in the midst of it.

As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter[ also], if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

He that killeth an ox[ is as if] he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb,[ as if] he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation,[ as if he offered] swine’s blood; he that burneth incense,[ as if] he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

Shall I not visit them for these[ things]? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

Shall I not visit for these[ things]? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for[ then] had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all[ things], and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him[ that] answer, saying,The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it[ not] into his mind?So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings,[ and] because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that[ are] in the land of Egypt:Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

And he shall say, Where[ are] their gods,[ their] rock in whom they trusted,Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices,[ and] drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you,[ and] be your protection.

But ye[ are] they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
