The Sovereign Lord has given me a well- instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

The Lord and King has taught me what to say. He has taught me how to help those who are tired. He wakes me up every morning. He makes me want to listen like a good student.

The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will.

The Jews therefore marveled, saying,“ How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”So Jesus answered them,“ My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

Then the Lord said to him,“ Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.

And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said,“ Is not this Joseph’s son?”

Peace, peace, to the far and to the near,” says the Lord,“ and I will heal him.

O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.

You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.

The officers answered,“ No one ever spoke like this man!”
