Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

How terrible it will be for those who think they are wise! How terrible for those who think they are really clever!

What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.

Woe to those who consider themselves wise and judge themselves clever.

Guard against self- deception, each of you. If someone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he can become wise.For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. Do not be wise in your own estimation; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
