I will always guide you. I will satisfy your needs in a land baked by the sun. I will make you stronger. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water. You will be like a spring whose water never runs dry.

That kind of person is like a tree that is planted near a stream of water. It always bears its fruit at the right time. Its leaves don’t dry up. Everything godly people do turns out well.

Their roots will be firm in the house of the Lord. They will grow strong and healthy in the courtyards of our God.When they get old, they will still bear fruit. Like young trees they will stay fresh and strong.They will say to everyone,“ The Lord is honest. He is my Rock, and there is no evil in him.”

But many who heard the message believed. The number of men who believed grew to about 5,000.

On the first day you must get branches from palms, willows and other leafy trees. You must be filled with joy in front of the Lord your God for seven days.

More and more men and women believed in the Lord. They joined the other believers.

We were sitting by the rivers of Babylon. We wept when we remembered what had happened to Zion.On the nearby poplar trees we hung up our harps.

They ate and prayed together.Everyone was amazed at what God was doing. They were amazed when the apostles performed many wonders and signs.All the believers were together. They shared everything they had.They sold property and other things they owned. They gave to anyone who needed something.Every day they met together in the temple courtyard. They ate meals together in their homes. Their hearts were glad and sincere.They praised God. They were respected by all the people. Every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

The soil makes the young plant come up. A garden causes seeds to grow. In the same way, the Lord and King will make godliness grow. And all the nations will praise him.”
