A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;

He will not break a bent twig. He will not put out a dimly burning flame. He will be faithful and make everything right.

He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.

He will not break a bruised reed, and he will not put out a smoldering wick; he will faithfully bring justice.

He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them,“ Peace be with you.”When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.Jesus said to them again,“ Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

“ I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.

before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.

May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice!Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness!May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor!

“ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.Say to those who have an anxious heart,“ Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”

Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat,but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

“ For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable, and your wound is grievous.There is none to uphold your cause, no medicine for your wound, no healing for you.All your lovers have forgotten you; they care nothing for you; for I have dealt you the blow of an enemy, the punishment of a merciless foe, because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant.Why do you cry out over your hurt? Your pain is incurable. Because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant, I have done these things to you.Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity; those who plunder you shall be plundered, and all who prey on you I will make a prey.For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord, because they have called you an outcast:‘ It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.

I have heard Ephraim grieving,‘ You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined, like an untrained calf; bring me back that I may be restored, for you are the Lord my God.For after I had turned away, I relented, and after I was instructed, I struck my thigh; I was ashamed, and I was confounded, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the Lord.

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:“ I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before me, and the breath of life that I made.Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry, I struck him; I hid my face and was angry, but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners,

I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
