雖在日中、猶如瞽者暗中摸索、所行所為、不獲亨通、恆遭暴虐刦奪、無人救援、聘妻而人與之寢、築室而己不得居、植葡萄園而不得食其果、爾牛被宰、爾目擊之、而不得食、爾驢被奪、爾目擊之、而不見返、爾羊付於爾敵、無人救爾、子女付於異族、爾將終日瞻望、至於目盲、無力拯之、爾之土產、及爾勞而得者、將為爾所未識之民吞噬、爾惟受虐見迫、歷久如是、

遣使渡海、以葦為舟、浮水而往、曰、爾曹輕捷之使、宜適某國、其人身偉膚潤、立國以來、有威可畏、其民英勇、蹂躪敵國、其地河派分流、

西底家叛巴比倫王、九年十月十日、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、率其全軍至耶路撒冷、建營圍之、四周築壘以攻之、城被困、至西底家王十一年、四月九日、邑中饑甚、斯土之民絕糧、於是穴城、戰士由附近王囿、兩垣間之門出邑、夜遁、迦勒底人環城、眾向亞拉巴而走、迦勒底軍追王、及於耶利哥之平原、王軍潰散、迦勒底人執王、解至哈馬之利比拉、巴比倫王所、而審鞫之、巴比倫王戮西底家諸子、使之目睹、又在利比拉、戮猶大諸牧伯、抉西底家目、繫之以鏈、攜至巴比倫、下之於獄、迄於死日、○

既近、見城、則為之哭、曰、倘爾於是日、知關乎平安之事則幸、但今隱於爾目矣、蓋日將至、爾敵必築壘環爾、四週困爾、且擲爾及爾中子女於地、不遺一石於石上、以爾不知眷顧爾之日也、○
