“ Israel, listen to me! You can hear, but you do not understand. Look to me! You can see, but you do not know what you are seeing.

In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him,“ Ephphatha!” that is,“ Be opened!”Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.They were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”

Jesus answered them,“ Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Yahweh has made even both of them.

Bring out the blind people who have eyes, and the deaf who have ears.

Yahweh said to him,“ Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?

Because you say,‘ I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.
