“ Israel, listen to me! You can hear, but you do not understand. Look to me! You can see, but you do not know what you are seeing.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.And his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it.And they were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh even the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

And he answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which ye have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good tidings preached to them.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them.

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

And Jehovah said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? Or who maketh a man dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Jehovah?

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked:I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.
