公平就必居在曠野中，公義必住在肥田裡。

基達的羊群都必聚集到你那裡，尼拜約的公羊要供你使用；牠們必獻在我的祭壇上，成為蒙悅納的祭品。我要榮耀我榮耀的殿。

他要執掌權柄，從這海到那海，從大河直到地極。住在曠野的人必向他屈身，他的仇敵必舔塵土。他施和海島的列王都必帶來禮物，示巴和西巴的列王都必獻上貢物。

那時，瘸子必像鹿一般跳躍，啞巴的舌頭必大聲歡呼；曠野必湧出大水，沙漠必流出江河。

我要在光禿的高處開闢江河，在山谷之間開闢泉源；我要使曠野變為水池，使乾地變成水泉。我要在曠野種上香柏樹、皂莢樹、番石榴樹和野橄欖樹；我要在沙漠中栽種松樹、杉樹和黃楊樹，

看哪！那傳報佳音、宣告和平之人的腳，已經站在山上，說：猶大啊！守你的節期，還你的願吧！因為那奸惡的人永不會再從你中間經過；他已被徹底除滅了。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為2:1）

主對我這樣說：“按照雇工的年數，一年之內，基達的一切光榮都必化為烏有。

你們要把羊羔送給那地的掌權者，從西拉經過曠野，送到錫安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的山。

我寄居在米設，住在基達的帳棚中，有禍了。

那傳福音、宣布平安、傳美好的福音、宣布救恩，又對錫安說“你的神作王了”的，他的腳蹤在山上多麼的美！

耶和華回答她：“兩國在你肚裡，兩族從你腹中要分出來；將來這族必強過那族，大的要服事小的。”

“看哪！我要作一件新的事；現在它要發生了，難道你們還不知道嗎？我要在曠野開一條道路，在荒地開挖江河。

摩押的居民哪！你們要離棄城鎮，住在山巖裡，像鴿子在峽谷的邊上築巢。

有聲音呼喊說：“你們要在曠野清理耶和華的路，在沙漠修直我們神的大道。

曠野和乾旱之地必歡喜；沙漠要快樂，又像番紅花一般開花，

你那令人戰慄的威風，你心中的傲氣欺騙了你；你這住在巖石的隱密處，雄據山嶺高處的啊！你雖如鷹在高處搭窩，我也必把你從那裡拉下來。”這是耶和華的宣告。

看哪！在山谷上、在巖石平原上的耶路撒冷啊！我要攻擊你。’這是耶和華的宣告。‘你們說：誰能下來攻擊我們，誰能進入我們的住處呢？

你心中的傲氣欺騙了你；你這住在巖石的隱密處，居所在高處的啊！你心裡說：“誰能把我拉下地呢？”
