I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said,‘ You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

I gathered you from one end of the earth to the other. From the farthest places on earth I brought you together. I said,‘ You are my servants.’ I have chosen you. I have not turned my back on you.

I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying,‘ You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.

要知道，耶和华为他大名的缘故，必不会撇弃他的子民，因为耶和华愿意你们作他的子民。

弟兄们，想一想你们所蒙的召唤：按人的标准，你们当中有智慧的不多，有权势的不多，出身高贵的也不多。然而神却拣选了世上愚拙的，为了使那些有智慧的羞愧；神又拣选了世上软弱的，为了使那些强壮的羞愧；神也拣选了世上出身低微的、被人藐视的，就是那些不是什么的，为了要废除那些是个什么的，好使所有的人在神面前都不能自夸，

因为耶和华不撇弃他的子民，不离弃他的继业；

他们唱着一首新歌，说：“你配接受那书卷，配打开它的封印，因为你曾被杀，用自己的血，从各支派、各语言群体、各民族、各国家，为神赎回了人，

是谁从东方兴起了一人，凭公义把他召唤到脚前？是谁把列国交在他面前，让他制伏君王们？他用刀使他们如尘土，用弓使他们像被吹散的麦秸；

你不要害怕，因为我与你同在。从东方，我必带来你的后裔；从西方，我必招聚你；对北方，我要说：‘交出来！’对南方，我要说：‘不可留阻！’你们要把我的儿子们从远方带来，把我的女儿们从地极带来——

愿耶和华所赎回的民这样感谢；这民就是他从敌人手中赎回来，从东从西、从北从南，从各地所招聚的人。

人们将从东、西、南、北而来，在神的国里坐席。

可是你，以色列啊，我的仆人！雅各啊，我所拣选的，我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔！

那么，我要问，难道神弃绝了他的子民吗？绝对没有！其实我也是以色列人，亚伯拉罕的后裔，属于便雅悯支派。神并没有弃绝自己预先所知道的子民。难道你们不知道那有关以利亚的经文怎么说吗？他怎样向神抱怨以色列人呢？

我亲爱的弟兄们，请听！神难道不是拣选了世上的那些贫穷人，使他们在信仰上富有，并且做他国度的继承人吗？这国度是他应许给爱他之人的。
