Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?

誰升上天，又降下來呢？誰收聚風在掌中呢？誰包水在衣服裡呢？誰立定地的四極呢？他的名字叫甚麼？他兒子的名字叫甚麼？你知道嗎？

又說：“主啊！你起初立了地的根基，天也是你手的工作。天地都要毀滅，你卻長存；天地都要像衣服一樣漸漸殘舊，你要把天地像外套一樣捲起來，天地就像衣服一樣被更換；只有你永不改變，你的年數也沒有窮盡。”

我奠定大地根基的時候，你在哪裡呢？你若有聰明，就只管說吧。你一定曉得是誰定大地的尺度，是誰把準繩拉在大地之上？地的基礎奠在哪裡，地的角石是誰安放的？那時晨星一起歌唱，神的眾子也都歡呼。海水沖出如嬰孩出母胎，那時誰用門把海水關閉呢？是我以雲彩當作海的衣服，以幽暗當作包裹海的布；我為海定界限，又安置門閂和門戶，說：‘你只可到這裡，不可越過，你狂傲的波浪要在這裡止住。’

那時，耶和華還沒有造大地和田野，也沒有造地上的泥土。他立定諸天的時候，我在那裡；他在淵面上界劃地平線的時候，我在那裡；他上使穹蒼堅固，下使深淵的水泉穩定；

我又看見一個白色的大寶座，和坐在上面的那位。天地都從他面前逃避，再也看不見了。

神高深莫測之事你怎能查出呢？全能者的終極你怎能洞悉呢？他的智慧高於諸天，你能作甚麼呢？比陰間還深，你怎能識透？他的智慧比地長，比海寬。

你披上亮光好像披上外袍；展開諸天好像鋪張帳幔。你在水上立起你樓閣的棟梁；你以雲彩為戰車；乘駕風的翅膀而行。

他為風定輕重，又度量眾水；
