And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

‘ Some of the members of your family line will be taken away. They will be your own flesh and blood. They will include the children who will be born into your family line. And they will serve the king of Babylon in his palace.’ ”

And some of your own sons, who will come from you, whom you will father, shall be taken away, and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

‘ Some of your very own sons will be taken away into exile. They will become eunuchs who will serve in the palace of Babylon’s king.’”

‘ Some of your descendants— who come from you, whom you father— will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

‘ And some of your sons who will come from you, whom you will father, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

犹大王约雅敬在位第三年，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来到耶路撒冷，把城围困。主把犹大王约雅敬和神殿中的一部分器物交在尼布甲尼撒手里，他就把这些器物带到示拿地的神庙那里，存放在庙中的宝库里。王吩咐他的太监长亚施毗拿说：“你要从以色列人中，把一些王室的后裔和贵族带进来；这些年轻人必须没有残疾、英俊、足智多才、有高度学习能力、明察事理，而且他们必须有能力可以在王宫里工作。你要教他们学习迦勒底的文学和语言。”王指定每日给他们一份御用的佳肴美酒；又教养他们三年。期满以后，他们就侍立在王面前。他们中间有犹大人但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅。太监长给他们起了新的名字，称但以理为伯提沙撒，哈拿尼雅为沙得拉，米沙利为米煞，亚撒利雅为亚伯尼歌。

犹大王约雅斤和他的母亲、众臣仆、众领袖，以及众太监，出城投降巴比伦王。巴比伦王于是捉住他。那时，是巴比伦王在位第八年。

过了年，尼布甲尼撒派人去把约雅斤和耶和华殿里的珍贵的器皿，一起带到巴比伦来。他立了约雅斤的叔叔西底家，作犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

他们把王擒住，把他解到利比拉巴比伦王那里；他们就宣判他的罪。他们又在西底家眼前杀了他的众子，并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然后用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。

“你要对那叛逆的民族说：‘你们不知道这些事是什么意思吗？’你要告诉他们：‘看哪！巴比伦王曾到耶路撒冷来，把其中的王和众领袖掳去，带他们到巴比伦那里去。他从以色列王室后裔中选出一人，与他立约，叫他起誓，并且把国中那些有势力的人掳去，使国衰微，不能再兴盛，唯有谨守条约他才可以继续存在。可是这人背叛了巴比伦王，差遣使者到埃及去，要得战马和大军。他能亨通吗？行这样事的人，怎能逃脱呢？他破坏条约，怎能逃脱呢？我指着我的永生起誓：他藐视了自己所起的誓，背弃了与王所立的约，因此他必死在巴比伦，就是那立他作王的巴比伦王的国家。这是耶和华的宣告。敌人建造围城的高墙，筑起攻城土垒要剪除多人的时候，法老率领大军和大队人马，还是不能帮助他作战。他藐视誓言，背弃条约；他已宣誓效忠，却又行了这一切事，所以他必不能逃脱。因此主耶和华这样说：我指着我的永生起誓：他既然藐视我的誓言，背弃我的约，我必使这罪归到他的头上。我要把我的网撒在他身上，他必在我的网罗中被捕获；我要把他带到巴比伦去，并且要在那里因他对我不忠的罪审判他。

脱离刀剑的人，迦勒底王都把他们掳到巴比伦去，作他和他的子孙的奴仆，直到波斯国兴起的时候。

他把约雅斤掳到巴比伦去，又把太后、后妃、太监和国中的要员都从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦；

并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎了，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。

因此耶和华领亚述王的将帅来攻打他们，用钩子钩着玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。
