And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

‘ Some of the members of your family line will be taken away. They will be your own flesh and blood. They will include the children who will be born into your family line. And they will serve the king of Babylon in his palace.’ ”

And some of your own sons, who will come from you, whom you will father, shall be taken away, and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

‘ Some of your very own sons will be taken away into exile. They will become eunuchs who will serve in the palace of Babylon’s king.’”

‘ Some of your descendants— who come from you, whom you father— will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

‘ And some of your sons who will come from you, whom you will father, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

‘ And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

犹大王约雅敬执政第三年，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒前来围攻耶路撒冷。主将犹大王约雅敬及上帝殿中的部分器具交在他手中。他把器具掳到巴比伦的神庙，放在他神明的库房里。王吩咐太监长亚施毗拿从以色列的王室贵族中选一些人，即毫无残疾、相貌英俊、学问渊博、知识丰富、聪慧善学、能在王宫服侍的青年，教他们迦勒底的语言和文字。王安排他们每日享用一份御用的膳食和酒。他们要受教养三年，期满后好在王身边供职。被选的人中有犹大族的但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅。太监长给他们起了名字：称但以理为伯提沙撒，哈拿尼雅为沙得拉，米沙利为米煞，亚撒利雅为亚伯尼歌。

犹大王约雅斤及其母亲、臣仆和文官武将向尼布甲尼撒投降。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒在他执政第八年俘虏了约雅斤，

那年春天，尼布甲尼撒王派人把他和耶和华殿里的贵重器皿一同带到巴比伦。尼布甲尼撒另立约雅斤的叔叔西底迦做犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

迦勒底人擒住西底迦，把他押到利比拉见巴比伦王，在那里审判他。巴比伦王在西底迦面前杀了他的众子，又剜去他的双眼，把他用铜链锁着押往巴比伦。

“你要对这些悖逆的人说，‘你们不明白这比喻的意思吗？’要告诉他们，巴比伦王攻取了耶路撒冷，把其中的君王和大臣掳到巴比伦，并从犹大王室中选出一人与他立约，要他效忠。巴比伦王掳去犹大国的重臣，使犹大国臣服于他，无法图强，只能遵守盟约，以求生存。后来，犹大王背叛了巴比伦王，派使者到埃及请求支援军队马匹。他能成功吗？他这样做怎能逃脱惩罚呢？他这样背约怎能逃脱惩罚呢？“我凭我的永恒起誓，巴比伦王立他做王，他却弃约背誓，他必死在巴比伦。敌人筑起围攻的土垒和高台大肆杀戮的时候，法老虽然兵强马壮，人多势众，仍无法帮他抗敌。他起誓降服，却弃约背誓，所以绝不能逃避后果。因此，主耶和华说，‘我凭我的永恒起誓，他既藐视与我所立的誓言，背弃与我所定的约，我必惩罚他。我要撒开网罗抓住他，把他带到巴比伦，审判他对我不忠的罪。

没有被杀戮的人都被掳往巴比伦，做他和他子孙的奴隶，直到波斯帝国的时代。

他把约雅斤及其母亲、妃嫔、臣仆和国中政要从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦。

并且挖去他的双眼，把他用铜链锁着带到巴比伦。

所以，耶和华就差遣亚述王的将领来攻击他们，他们捉住玛拿西，用钩子钩着他，用铜链锁着他押往巴比伦。
