“ Come, let’s return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.

Moreover, King Hezekiah and the officials ordered the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with joy, and bowed down and worshiped.

See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can save anyone from My hand.

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the stomach of the fish,and he said,“ I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. Then you will say on that day,“ I will give thanks to You, Lord; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me.Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.”Therefore you will joyously draw water From the springs of salvation.And on that day you will say,“ Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted.”Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.Rejoice and shout for joy, you inhabitant of Zion, For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy,That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Even the infertile woman gives birth to seven, But she who has many children languishes.The Lord puts to death and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and brings up.The Lord makes poor and rich; He humbles, He also exalts.He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap To seat them with nobles, And He gives them a seat of honor as an inheritance; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.He watches over the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a person prevail.Those who contend with the Lord will be terrified; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed.”

I love the Lord, because He hears My voice and my pleas.Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.The snares of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.Then I called upon the name of the Lord:“ Please, Lord, save my life!”

For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, but His hands also heal.

Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their guilty deeds, were afflicted.Their souls loathed all kinds of food, And they came close to the gates of death.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction.They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind!They shall also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing.
