Lord, by such things people live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live.

Lord, people find the will to live because you keep your promises. And my spirit also finds life in your promises. You brought me back to health. You let me live.

O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these is the life of my spirit. Oh restore me to health and make me live!

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!

使爾卑微、使爾饑餓、以爾與爾祖所未識之瑪拿賜爾食、使爾知人不獨恃餅得生、亦恃凡由主口所出之言得生、

有時使其病臥於床、負痛以責之、使之遘疾、痛楚難堪、深入骨髓、口厭食物、心惡珍饈、肉消不得再見、前所不見之骨、亦皆顯露、生命臨墓、離死不遠、或作其生臨於墓其命離死不遠千天使中若有一天使為其人作保、以人所當為之正事明示之、天主則矜憫其人曰、可援之、免其入墓、我已得以贖之者、其體豐腴、勝於幼年、必返老還童、若祈禱天主、蒙天主悅納、使其歡然得覲天主面、天主必按人之義以報之、歌於人前曰、我昔犯罪、行為不正、反不受應得之報、天主救贖我生、生或作靈免入塚墓、救贖我命、俾睹光明、

主使我多遭災患苦難、必使我復甦、從地幽深之處、必救我復上、

然被審時、乃受主譴責、以免與世同被定罪、

今我所受暫而且微之苦、為我備至大無比之永榮、

生我身之父、暫時任意懲我、惟賦畀我神之父懲我、乃為我之益、使我成聖、可同於彼、凡懲責、受之時不為樂、乃為憂、後必為由懲責得練達者、結善義平康之果、

我之生命、幾歸塵埃、求主依主之前言、使我蘇醒、

耶穌曰、經載云、人得生、不第恃餅、亦恃凡天主口所出之言、

歡然為善、行主道並念主者、主以恩迎接之、惟我犯罪、故主震怒、如此之景象已久、我尚能得救乎、
