I waited patiently till dawn, but like a lion he broke all my bones; day and night you made an end of me.

求你使我得听欢喜快乐的声音，使你所压伤的骨头可以踊跃。

王下令，人就把那些控告但以理的人，连他们的妻子儿女都带来，扔在狮子坑中。他们还没有到坑底，狮子就抓住他们，咬碎他们的骨头。

求你把你的责罚从我身上免去；因你手的责打，我便消灭。

他就去了，在路上有个狮子遇见他，将他咬死，尸身倒在路上，驴站在尸身旁边，狮子也站在尸身旁边。有人从那里经过，看见尸身倒在路上，狮子站在尸身旁边，就来到老先知所住的城里述说这事。那带神人回来的先知听见这事，就说：“这是那违背了耶和华命令的神人，所以耶和华把他交给狮子；狮子抓伤他，咬死他，是应验耶和华对他说的话。”

你们忘记神的，要思想这事，免得我把你们撕碎，无人搭救。

因此，在你们中间有好些软弱的与患病的，死的也不少。我们若是先分辨自己，就不至于受审。我们受审的时候，乃是被主惩治，免得我们和世人一同定罪。
