Like a shepherd’s tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

My body is like a shepherd’s tent. It has been pulled down and carried off. My life is like a piece of cloth that I’ve rolled up. You have cut it off from the loom. In a short period of time you have brought my life to an end.

你要像捲外衣一樣把天地捲起來。天地將如衣服一樣被更換，但你永遠不變，你的年日永無窮盡。」

我天天遭災，日日受苦。

我們知道，我們的身體好比是地上的帳篷，如果毀壞了，我們就從上帝那裡得到一個住處，不是人手造的，而是天上永恆的「房屋」。

雖然權貴們坐著譭謗我，僕人仍要默想你的律例。

願祂壓碎我，伸手毀滅我。

他如花盛開，轉眼凋謝；如影消逝，無法久留。

我覺得應當趁著我還在世的時候提醒你們，激勵你們，因我知道自己離世的日子已經不遠了，正如我們的主耶穌基督指示我的。

我們在這「帳篷」裡勞苦歎息，並非想脫去這地上的身體，而是切望能穿上那天上的新身體，讓永恆的生命吞滅必朽的身體。

我的生命就像黃昏的影子，又如枯乾的草芥。

我曾驚恐地說：「你丟棄了我！」其實你聽了我的呼求。

那裡必人煙絕跡，世世代代無人居住，沒有阿拉伯人在那裡支搭帳篷，也無人牧放羊群。

其實你們根本不知道明天會發生什麼事。你們的生命是什麼呢？你們只不過像一陣霧氣，出現片刻，就無影無蹤了。

同樣，我註定要度過虛空的歲月，熬過悲慘的黑夜。我躺在床上，想著何時起來。長夜漫漫，我輾轉難眠，直到拂曉。我身上佈滿蛆蟲、傷疤，皮膚破裂，流膿不止。我的年日飛逝，比梭還快，轉眼結束，毫無盼望。「上帝啊，別忘了我的生命不過是一口氣，我再也看不見幸福。

祂使我未老先衰，縮短了我的歲月。我說：「我的上帝啊，你世代長存，求你不要叫我中年早逝。

僅存的錫安城也像葡萄園裡的草棚、瓜田中的茅舍、被困無援的孤城。

早晚之間，他們便被毀滅，永遠消逝，無人察覺。

「我的心靈破碎，我的年日將盡，墳墓等候著我。

你使他未老先衰，滿面羞愧。（細拉）耶和華啊，你隱藏自己要到何時呢？要到永遠嗎？你的怒火要燒到何時呢？願你顧念我的生命何其短暫！你創造的世人何其虛幻！

「我的年日比信差還快，匆匆而過，不見幸福。我的歲月疾馳如快船，快如急降抓食的老鷹。
