Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to all the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.

Listen, Lord. Hear us. Open your eyes, Lord. Look at the trouble we’re in. Listen to what Sennacherib is saying. You are the living God. And he dares to make fun of you!

Now, O my God, let your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayer of this place.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

But you do see, for you note mischief and vexation, that you may take it into your hands; to you the helpless commits himself; you have been the helper of the fatherless.Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call his wickedness to account till you find none.

Arise, O God, defend your cause; remember how the foolish scoff at you all the day!

I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words.

It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

It may be that the Lord will look on the wrong done to me, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing today.”

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate.O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.”

He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, and how I bear in my heart the insults of all the many nations,with which your enemies mock, O Lord, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed.

Return sevenfold into the lap of our neighbors the taunts with which they have taunted you, O Lord!

In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me!

How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
