希西家言、爾必見拯於耶和華、爾勿聽焉、四方民所事之上帝、豈得救其國、脫於亞述王手乎、

希西家誘爾曰、主必救我儕、爾勿聽之、列國之諸神、何嘗有神救其國、脫於亞述王之手、

“ Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says,‘ The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?

“‘ Don’t let Hezekiah fool you. He’s telling you a lie when he says,“ The Lord will save us.” Have the gods of any nations ever saved their lands from the power of the king of Assyria?

Beware lest Hezekiah mislead you by saying,“ The Lord will deliver us.” Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

“ Don’t let Hezekiah mislead you by saying,‘ The Lord will rescue us!’ Have the gods of any other nations ever saved their people from the king of Assyria?

Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying,‘ The LORD will rescue us.’ Has any one of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you, saying,“ The Lord will save us.” Has any one of the gods of the nations saved his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying,“ The Lord will deliver us.” Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying,‘ The Lord will deliver us.’ Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

Hezekiah is misleading you when he says,“ The LORD will rescue us.” Has any of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying,“ Yahweh will deliver us.” Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

For the customs of the people[ are] vain: for[ one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.They[ are] upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also[ is it] in them to do good.

Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips[ are] our own: who[ is] lord over us?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed,[ as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which[ were] in Telassar?Where[ is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?

O LORD, how great are thy works![ and] thy thoughts are very deep.A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;[ it is] that they shall be destroyed for ever:

And am I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? the LORD said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

But the LORD[ is] the true God, he[ is] the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth,[ even] they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

But if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God:[ is it] not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?

For I know that the LORD[ is] great, and[ that] our Lord[ is] above all gods.Whatsoever the LORD pleased,[ that] did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed;[ as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which[ were] in Thelasar?Where[ is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made;[ well]: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who[ is] that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of[ other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?Who[ was there] among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?And his servants spake yet[ more] against the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of[ other] lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,And have cast their gods into the fire: for they[ were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where[ is] now their God?But our God[ is] in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.Their idols[ are] silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.They that make them are like unto them;[ so is] every one that trusteth in them.

The idols of the heathen[ are] silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there[ any] breath in their mouths.They that make them are like unto them:[ so is] every one that trusteth in them.

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it[ is] laid over with gold and silver, and[ there is] no breath at all in the midst of it.But the LORD[ is] in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?Where[ are] the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where[ are] the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand?Who[ are] they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?
