In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah’s reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.

亞述王遣他坦、拉伯撒利、拉伯沙基、統率大軍、自拉吉往耶路撒冷攻希西家王、既至耶路撒冷、立於上池之引水溝旁、此上池在漂工漂工或作濯衣田之道側、

故主必使亞述王率軍旅來攻之、勢如大河之水、狂流洶湧、漲溢出川、氾濫逾岸、流入猶大、氾濫漲溢、深及於項、以瑪內利乎、其其即亞述王羽翼必充於四境、遍爾國中、○

主必使降災之日、臨爾與爾民及爾父家、自以法蓮叛猶大以來、未有若是之日、即使亞述王至而攻爾、

民中豪傑、哀號於邑外、求和之使、哀慟哭泣、大道荒蕪、行旅絕迹、敵人廢約、藐視城邑、不顧不顧或作輕視人民、

亞述王至亞葉、經密倫、在密抹屯積輜重、過隘口、宿於迦巴、拉瑪人驚惶、掃羅之基比亞人遁逃、迦琳居民居民原文作女揚聲而呼、萊煞人詳細探聽、困苦之亞拿突民亦如是、瑪得米那人逃避、基柄居民集而遁、當是日至挪伯暫止、向郇邑之山、耶路撒冷之岡舉手、以指將攻、

爾地荒蕪、爾邑被火焚燬、爾之田土、異邦人吞據於爾目前、爾國既遭異邦人之傾覆、遂致荒蕪、郇城僅存、猶葡萄園之廬、瓜田之棚、如被困之邑、
