When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit.“ You deaf and mute spirit,” he said,“ I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said,“ He’s dead.” (niv)

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. (niv)

Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord— Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here— has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. “ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, (niv)

Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. (niv)

They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked,“ Do you see anything?”He looked up and said,“ I see people; they look like trees walking around.”Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged Jesus to place his hand on him.After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue.He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him,“ Ephphatha!”( which means“ Be opened!”).At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.People were overwhelmed with amazement.“ He has done everything well,” they said.“ He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” (niv)

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, (niv)

Ears that hear and eyes that see— the Lord has made them both. (niv)

The Lord said to him,“ Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? (niv)
