For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

我刃足飲於天、將臨以東、及我所詛之民、而審鞫之、

予自天降罰以東之國、戮堪誅之民、血染鋒刃、以洩我忿、

主曰、我之刃浸潤在天、浸潤在天或作在天如醉我使臨於以東、臨於我所擬定滅亡之民、施行懲罰、

My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom, the people I have totally destroyed.

The sword of the Lord will finish its deadly work in the sky. Then it will come down to strike Edom. He will totally destroy that nation.

For my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; behold, it descends for judgment upon Edom, upon the people I have devoted to destruction.

And when my sword has finished its work in the heavens, it will fall upon Edom, the nation I have marked for destruction.

When my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens, it will then come down on Edom and on the people I have set apart for destruction.

For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven; Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom, And upon the people whom I have designated for destruction.

“ For My sword shall be bathed in heaven; Indeed it shall come down on Edom, And on the people of My curse, for judgment.

When My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens, it will then come down on Edom and on the people I have set apart for destruction.

He says,“ Indeed, my sword has slaughtered heavenly powers. Look, it now descends on Edom, on the people I will annihilate in judgment.”

For my sword has drunk its fill in the sky. Behold, it will come down on Edom, and on the people of my curse, for judgment.

Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

Who[ is] this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this[ that is] glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

For this[ is] the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts;[ Is] wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time[ that] I will visit him.If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave[ some] gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he[ is] not.Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve[ them] alive; and let thy widows trust in me.For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment[ was] not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and[ art] thou he[ that] shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink[ of it].For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen,[ saying], Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen,[ and] despised among men.Thy terribleness hath deceived thee,[ and] the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour[ cities] thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who[ is] a chosen[ man, that] I may appoint over her? for who[ is] like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who[ is] that shepherd that will stand before me?Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.

And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I[ am] against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go[ and] serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh;[ and that] with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son,[ as] every tree.And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked,[ which is] thy sword:

Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation[ is] high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?Though thou exalt[ thyself] as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night,( how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave[ some] grapes?How are[ the things] of Esau searched out![ how] are his hidden things sought up!All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee[ even] to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee,[ and] prevailed against thee;[ they that eat] thy bread have laid a wound under thee:[ there is] none understanding in him.Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise[ men] out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?And thy mighty[ men], O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.For[ thy] violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou[ wast] as one of them.But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid[ hands] on their substance in the day of their calamity;Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

O thou sword of the LORD, how long[ will it be] ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

Cursed[ be] the man that maketh[ any] graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth[ it] in[ a] secret[ place]. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.Cursed[ be] he that confirmeth not[ all] the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Ye Ethiopians also, ye[ shall be] slain by my sword.

Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase[ it], rase[ it, even] to the foundation thereof.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed[ is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance[ was] as the sun shineth in his strength.
