人收聚你们的掠物，好像蚂蚱收聚庄稼；人向掠物猛冲而上，好像成群的蝗虫向庄稼猛冲而上。

祸哉！你这未遭毁灭的毁灭者，未遭背信之事的背信者！你行完了毁灭，自己必遭毁灭；你做尽了背信之事，自己必遭背信之事。

水手们想离船逃生，就把救生艇放到海里，却假装要从船头抛锚。保罗对百夫长和士兵们说：“这些人如果不留在船上，你们就不能获救。”于是士兵们就把救生艇的绳索砍断，由它漂去。

大卫和四百人继续追赶，那两百个因疲乏不能渡过比梭溪谷的人就留在那里。

于是他们砍断了锚，把它们丢弃在海里，同时松开舵绳，拉起了前帆，顺着风向岸前进。但遇到海水夹流的地方，船就搁了浅，船头被卡住，动弹不得，而船尾也开始被波浪的猛力冲散了。

第三天，他们又亲手把船上的用具抛出去。

与大卫一起去的人中，所有的恶人和卑劣之徒都议论说：“既然他们没有与我们一起去，就不要把我们夺取的战利品分给他们。只让他们把各自的妻子、儿女带走。”但大卫说：“我的兄弟们，你们不可这样处理耶和华所赐给我们的，他保守了我们，把那些来攻击我们的匪徒交在我们手中。关于这事，谁会听你们的呢？出战的人怎样得份，留下看守辎重的人也怎样得份，要同等分配。”
