My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.

They will live in a peaceful land. Their homes will be secure. They will enjoy peace and quiet.

My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest.

Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings.

Then my people will live in a peaceful settlement, In secure dwellings, and in undisturbed resting places;

My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,

And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting- places.

Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings.

“‘ I will make a covenant of peace with them and will rid the land of wild beasts, so that they can live securely in the wilderness and even sleep in the woods.I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.

“ At that time I will make a covenant for them with the wild animals, the birds of the air, and the creatures that crawl on the ground. I will abolish the warrior’s bow and sword– that is, every weapon of warfare– from the land, and I will allow them to live securely.”I will commit myself to you forever; I will commit myself to you in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love and tender compassion.I will commit myself to you in faithfulness; then you will acknowledge the LORD.”“ At that time, I will willingly respond,” declares the LORD.“ I will respond to the sky, and the sky will respond to the ground;then the ground will respond to the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil; and they will respond to‘ God Plants’( Jezreel)!Then I will plant her as my own in the land. I will have pity on‘ No Pity’( Lo-Ruhamah). I will say to‘ Not My People’( Lo-Ammi),‘ You are my people!’ And he will say,‘ You are my God!’”

Instead of bronze, I will bring you gold, instead of iron, I will bring you silver, instead of wood, I will bring you bronze, instead of stones, I will bring you iron. I will make prosperity your overseer, and vindication your sovereign ruler.Sounds of violence will no longer be heard in your land, or the sounds of destruction and devastation within your borders. You will name your walls,‘ Deliverance,’ and your gates,‘ Praise.’

But I( the LORD says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem and the source of glory in her midst.’”

Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Jerusalem will live in security. At that time Jerusalem will be called“ The LORD has provided us with justice.”

No lions will be there, no ferocious wild animals will be on it– they will not be found there. Those delivered from bondage will travel on it,those whom the LORD has ransomed will return that way. They will enter Zion with a happy shout. Unending joy will crown them, happiness and joy will overwhelm them; grief and suffering will disappear.

“ I, the LORD, promise that a new time will certainly come when I will raise up for them a righteous branch, a descendant of David. He will rule over them with wisdom and understanding and will do what is just and right in the land.Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Israel will live in security. This is the name he will go by:‘ The LORD has provided us with justice.’

And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.

Look at Zion, the city where we hold religious festivals! You will see Jerusalem, a peaceful settlement, a tent that stays put; its stakes will never be pulled up; none of its ropes will snap in two.Instead the LORD will rule there as our mighty king. Rivers and wide streams will flow through it; no war galley will enter; no large ships will sail through.For the LORD, our ruler, the LORD, our commander, the LORD, our king– he will deliver us.

For the LORD who rules over all says to me that for his own glory he has sent me to the nations that plundered you– for anyone who touches you touches the pupil of his eye.

Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.
