But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

The men of Egypt are only human beings. They aren’t God. Their horses are only flesh and blood. They aren’t spirits. The Lord will reach out his powerful hand to punish everyone. The Egyptians provide help. But they will be tripped up. The people of Judah receive the help. But they will fall down. All of them will be destroyed.

The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.

For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.

若不是他們的磐石賣掉他們，若不是耶和華拋棄他們，一人怎能趕散他們千人？二人怎能擊潰他們萬人？我們的敵人也承認他們的磐石不如我們的磐石。

致詞完畢，眾人齊聲高呼：「這是神明在說話，不是凡人在說話！」希律沒有把榮耀歸給上帝，主的天使立刻懲罰他，他當場被蟲子咬死了。

但他們必蒙羞，因為埃及人對他們毫無用處，沒有任何幫助和益處，帶給他們的只有羞愧和恥辱。」

你們不要倚靠權貴，不要倚靠世人，他們救不了你們。他們氣息一斷，便歸回塵土，他們的打算轉眼成空。蒙雅各的上帝相助、仰望上帝耶和華的人有福了！

你們即使依靠埃及的戰車和騎兵，又怎能打敗我主人的一個最小的將領呢？

埃及的幫助是徒然的，所以我稱她為「沒用的海怪」。

靠戰馬取勝實屬妄想，馬雖力大也不能救人。

看啊，你所倚靠的埃及不過是一根破裂的蘆葦，倚靠它的必被刺破手。倚靠埃及王法老的下場都是這樣。』

他會抵擋主，高抬自己超過一切所謂的神明和人們崇拜的對象，甚至坐在上帝的殿中以上帝自居！我還在你們那裡的時候，曾告訴過你們這些事，你們忘記了嗎？現在，你們知道是什麼攔阻他，使他等到特定的時間才出現。其實那不法之徒的陰謀已經在醞釀中，然而現在有一位在攔阻他。等到攔阻他的那位一離開，他就會出現，但主耶穌會用自己口中的氣毀滅他，用從天降臨的榮光廢掉他。

「這是以色列的上帝耶和華的話，『猶大王派你們來求問我，你們告訴他，前來支援你們的法老軍隊必中途返回埃及，而迦勒底人必捲土重來，攻佔這城，將它付之一炬。耶和華說，你們不要自欺，以為迦勒底人必撤軍。其實他們不會撤軍。即使你們能打敗迦勒底全軍，他們營中受傷的殘兵也必起來燒毀這城。』」

耶和華啊，求你使列邦恐懼戰抖，讓他們明白自己不過是人。（細拉）
