他必飛去如夢，不再尋見，速被趕去，如夜間的異象。

到晚上有驚嚇，未到早晨他們就沒有了。這是擄掠我們之人所得的分，是搶奪我們之人的報應。

凡向你發怒的必都抱愧蒙羞；與你相爭的必如無有，並要滅亡。與你爭競的，你要找他們也找不着；與你爭戰的必如無有，成為虛無。

海水漲起，漫過巴比倫；她被許多海浪遮蓋。她的城邑變為荒場、旱地、沙漠，無人居住，無人經過之地。我必刑罰巴比倫的彼勒，使他吐出所吞的。萬民必不再流歸他那裏；巴比倫的城牆也必坍塌了。

耶和華不輕易發怒，大有能力，萬不以有罪的為無罪。他乘旋風和暴風而來，雲彩為他腳下的塵土。他斥責海，使海乾了，使一切江河乾涸。巴珊和迦密的樹林衰殘；黎巴嫩的花草也衰殘了。大山因他震動；小山也都消化。大地在他面前突起；世界和住在其間的也都如此。他發忿恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的忿怒如火傾倒；磐石因他崩裂。耶和華本為善，在患難的日子為人的保障，並且認得那些投靠他的人。但他必以漲溢的洪水淹沒尼尼微，又驅逐仇敵進入黑暗。尼尼微人哪，設何謀攻擊耶和華呢？他必將你們滅絕淨盡；災難不再興起。你們像叢雜的荊棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯乾的碎稭全然燒滅。有一人從你那裏出來，圖謀邪惡，設惡計攻擊耶和華。耶和華如此說：尼尼微雖然勢力充足，人數繁多，也被剪除，歸於無有。猶大啊，我雖然使你受苦，卻不再使你受苦。

必有響聲達到地極，因為耶和華與列國相爭；凡有血氣的，他必審問；至於惡人，他必交給刀劍。這是耶和華說的。萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，必有災禍從這國發到那國，並有大暴風從地極颳起。「到那日，從地這邊直到地那邊都有耶和華所殺戮的。必無人哀哭，不得收殮，不得葬埋，必在地上成為糞土。

耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。清早有人起來一看，都是死屍了。

耶和華的日子臨近，你的財物必被搶掠，在你中間分散。因為我必聚集萬國與耶路撒冷爭戰，城必被攻取，房屋被搶奪，婦女被玷污，城中的民一半被擄去；剩下的民仍在城中，不致剪除。那時，耶和華必出去與那些國爭戰，好像從前爭戰一樣。
