Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the Lord, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say,“ Who sees us?” or“ Who knows us?”

祸哉！那些向耶和华深藏谋略的，又在暗中行事，说：“谁看见我们呢？谁知道我们呢？”

背主設謀、深藏己意、行事暗中曰、孰見我、孰知我、如斯之人、禍哉禍哉、

Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?”

How terrible it will be for people who try hard to hide their plans from the Lord! They do their work in darkness. They think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?”

Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their evil deeds in the dark!“ The Lord can’t see us,” they say.“ He doesn’t know what’s going on!”

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the LORD. They do their works in the dark, and say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, And their works are in the dark; They say,“ Who sees us?” and,“ Who knows us?”

Woe unto them that hide deep their counsel from Jehovah, and whose works are in the dark, and that say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the Lord. They do their works in darkness, and say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Those who try to hide their plans from the LORD are as good as dead, who do their work in secret and boast,“ Who sees us? Who knows what we’re doing?”

Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in the dark, and who say,“ Who sees us?” and“ Who knows us?”

Then He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each man in the rooms of his carved images? For they say,‘ The Lord does not see us; the Lord has abandoned the land.’ ”

“ Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord,“ Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin;

You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say,“ How have we wearied Him?” In that you say,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,” or,“ Where is the God of justice?”

You felt secure in your wickedness and said,‘ No one sees me,’ Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have led you astray; For you have said in your heart,‘ I am, and there is no one besides me.’

Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The gushing flood will not reach us when it passes by, Because we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”

Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all,“ Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

He says to himself,“ God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”Arise, Lord; God, lift up Your hand. Do not forget the humble.Why has the wicked treated God disrespectfully? He has said to himself,“ You will not require an account.”

And I will kill her children with plague, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.

Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of human hearts; and then praise will come to each person from God.

Behold, they gush forth with their mouths; Swords are in their lips, For, they say,“ Who hears?”

Lord, You have searched me and known me.You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away.You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all.You have encircled me behind and in front, And placed Your hand upon me.Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot comprehend it.Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.

I will make justice the measuring line And righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the secret place.

They say,“ How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?”

Then He said to me,“ The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of perversion; for they say,‘ The Lord has abandoned the land, and the Lord does not see!’

but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.

I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, And they will not benefit you.

There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of injustice can hide themselves.

And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil.

And it will come about at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the people Who are stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts,‘ The Lord will not do good nor harm!’

But you say,‘ What does God know? Can He judge through the thick darkness?Clouds are a hiding place for Him, so that He cannot see; And He walks on the vault of heaven.’

Woe to those who drag wrongdoing with the cords of deceit, And sin as if with cart ropes;Who say,“ Let Him hurry, let Him do His work quickly, so that we may see it; And let the plan of the Holy One of Israel approach And come to pass, so that we may know it!”

They make firm for themselves an evil purpose; They talk of setting snares secretly; They say,“ Who can see them?”They devise injustices, saying,“ We are ready with a well conceived plot”; For the inward thought and the heart of a person are deep.

Can a person hide himself in hiding places So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord.“ Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.

They have said,“ The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob perceive.”Pay attention, you stupid ones among the people; And when will you understand, foolish ones?He who planted the ear, does He not hear? Or He who formed the eye, does He not see?

“ Others have been with those who rebel against the light; They do not want to know its ways Nor stay in its paths.The murderer arises at dawn; He kills the poor and the needy, And at night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight, Saying,‘ No eye will see me.’ And he disguises his face.In the darkness they dig into houses, They shut themselves up by day; They do not know the light.For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness, For he is familiar with the terrors of thick darkness.
