Like the striking of Him who has struck them, has He struck them? Or like the slaughter of His slain, have they been slain?

主擊打他們，豈像擊打那些擊打他們的人嗎？他們被殺戮，豈像被他們所殺戮的嗎？

耶和華擊打以色列，豈像擊打那些擊打他們的人嗎？以色列被殺戮，豈像其他人所遭遇的殺戮嗎？

耶和華擊之、豈若擊彼擊之者乎、其見殺也、豈若殺之者之見殺乎、

雅各之家、雖遭譴責、不若敵之譴責尤深、雖被殺戮、不若敵之殺戮更慘、

雅各被主譴責、豈如其敵被主譴責、雖遇殺戮、豈如其敵所遇之殺戮、

Has the Lord struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

The Lord struck down those who struck down Israel. But he hasn’t punished Israel as much. The Lord killed those who killed many of his people. But he hasn’t punished his people as much.

Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or have they been slain as their slayers were slain?

Has the Lord struck Israel as he struck her enemies? Has he punished her as he punished them?

Did the LORD strike Israel as he struck the one who struck Israel? Was Israel killed like those killed by the LORD?

Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him? Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?

Hath he smitten them as he smote those that smote them? or are they slain according to the slaughter of them that were slain by them?

Did the Lord strike Israel as He struck the one who struck Israel? Was he killed like those killed by Him?

Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him?[ or] is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?

Has the LORD struck down Israel like he did their oppressors? Has Israel been killed like their enemies?

Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or are they killed like those who killed them were killed?

Then the angel of the Lord went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when the rest got up early in the morning, behold, all of the 185,000 were dead.So Sennacherib the king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived in Nineveh.Then it came about, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword; and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And his son Esarhaddon became king in his place.

For I am with you,’ declares the Lord,‘ to save you; For I will completely destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely. But I will discipline you fairly And will by no means leave you unpunished.’“ For this is what the Lord says:‘ Your broken limb is irreparable, And your wound is incurable.There is no one to plead your cause; No healing for your sore, No recovery for you.All your lovers have forgotten you, They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the punishment of a cruel one, Because your wrongdoing is great, And your sins are numerous.Why do you cry out over your injury? Your pain is incurable. Because your wrongdoing is great And your sins are numerous, I have done these things to you.Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity; And those who plunder you will become plunder, And all who plunder you I will turn into plunder.

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of armies,“ and eliminate from Babylon name and survivors, offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.“ I will also make it the property of the hedgehog and swamps of water, and I will sweep it away with the broom of destruction,” declares the Lord of armies.

At evening time, behold, there is terror! Before morning they are gone. This will be the fate of those who plunder us And the lot of those who pillage us.

“ But I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes,” declares the Lord.

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ The sons of Israel are oppressed, And the sons of Judah as well; And all who took them captive have held them firmly, They have refused to let them go.Their Redeemer is strong, the Lord of armies is His name; He will vigorously plead their case So that He may bring rest to their land, But turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.

The Lord has issued a command concerning you:“ Your name will no longer be perpetuated. I will eliminate the carved image and the cast metal image From the house of your gods. I will prepare your grave, For you are contemptible.”

There is no relief for your collapse, Your wound is incurable. All who hear about you Will clap their hands over you, For upon whom has your evil not come continually?

“ You, O king, were watching and behold, there was a single great statue; that statue, which was large and of extraordinary radiance, was standing in front of you, and its appearance was awesome.The head of that statue was made of fine gold, its chest and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze,its legs of iron, and its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.You continued watching until a stone was broken off without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay, and crushed them.Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed to pieces all at the same time, and they were like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them was found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the entire earth.

As when God overthrew Sodom And Gomorrah with its neighbors,” declares the Lord,“ No one will live there, Nor will anyone of mankind reside in it.

Now on that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will no longer rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.For though your people, Israel, may be like the sand of the sea, Only a remnant within them will return; A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.For a complete destruction, one that is determined, the Lord God of armies will execute in the midst of the whole land.Therefore this is what the Lord God of armies says:“ My people, you who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod, and lifts up his staff against you the way Egypt did.For in a very little while My indignation against you will be ended and My anger will be directed toward their destruction.”

The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, And sovereignty from Damascus And the remnant of Aram; They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel,” Declares the Lord of armies.
