When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

When their twigs are dry, they will be broken off. Then women will come and make fires with them. The people of Jacob don’t understand the Lord. So the God who made them won’t be concerned about them. Their Creator won’t be kind to them.

When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.

The people are like the dead branches of a tree, broken off and used for kindling beneath the cooking pots. Israel is a foolish and stupid nation, for its people have turned away from God. Therefore, the one who made them will show them no pity or mercy.

贖爾之耶和華、自胎甄陶爾者云、我耶和華創造萬物、獨布諸天、而張大地、斯時偕我者誰耶、

肇造爾雅各、甄陶爾以色列之耶和華曰、勿懼、我已贖爾、呼爾以名、爾為我有、

空中之鶴、識厥定期、班鳩燕雁、咸依當來之時、惟我民不識耶和華之法律、

牛識其主、驢識主槽、惟以色列不識、我民不思、

即以我名而稱、我所肇造、以彰我榮、我所甄陶、成就者也、

故主不悅其丁男、不恤其孤寡、因皆褻慢作惡、眾口言妄、然其怒未息、其手尚伸焉、○

愚昧、背約、不情、不慈、

謂南林曰、宜聽耶和華言、主耶和華云、我必燃火於爾、盡焚爾木、或青或枯、其焰不滅、自南及北、灼炙眾面、

彼知識中既不願有上帝、上帝遂任其喪心、行非宜之行、

蓋未施矜恤者、其受鞫亦不獲矜恤、夫矜恤也、必勝乎鞫、○

我民蒙昧、而不我識、愚蠢之子、罔有聰慧、行惡有智、行善無智、○

禁我儕語異邦人、使之得救、常盈厥罪、而震怒盡臨之矣、○

凡聞天國之道而不悟、惡者至、奪其心之所播、此播於道旁者也、

於是耶和華忿怒其民、厭惡己業兮、

人子歟、葡萄樹在眾木中、葡萄枝在叢林中、有何長乎、可取其木、以製何器、可取其材、以作釘而懸物乎、惟投於火為薪、焚其兩端、並燬其中、尚有何用乎、其尚全時、猶難適用、況經火焚燬、則於製器、豈非更無所用乎、主耶和華曰、叢林中之葡萄樹、我以之為薪、投之於火、我待耶路撒冷居民、亦若是、我必怒顏向之、雖脫於火、終為火焚、我怒顏相向之時、爾則知我乃耶和華、因居民干罪、我必使斯土荒蕪、主耶和華言之矣、

斯民無謀猷、中心無聰慧、願其有智、明乎此事、思厥終局、

故我目不顧惜之、不加矜憫、必依其所行、報於其首、

乃悔造人於地、心焉憂之、耶和華曰、將以我所造之人、以及牲畜昆蟲飛鳥、翦滅於地、蓋我造之而悔矣、

守之行之、是為爾之智慧通達、在列邦民前、彼聞此典章、必曰、此大國、乃智慧通達之民也、

惟彼訕笑上帝之使、藐視其言、譏其先知、致耶和華之怒及於其民、無可救治、故上帝使迦勒底王來攻之、以刃戮其丁壯於其聖室、不恤幼男少女、老人白叟、俱付其手、

不恆在我者、猶枝見棄而槁、人拾而投於火焚之、

肇造爾、自胎甄陶爾、輔助爾之耶和華云、我僕雅各、我所選之耶書崙歟、勿懼、

產爾之磐石、爾不憶之、生爾之上帝、爾乃忘之、耶和華見而憎之、因其子女干厥震怒、曰、我將掩面、不加眷顧、觀其終局如何、彼乃乖戾之族、無誠信之子女、彼以非神者觸我忌、以虛無者激我怒、我將以異族觸彼忌、以蚩氓激彼怒、蓋我怒如火燎、燒及陰府、焚燬大地、暨其出產、燃彼山基、我將以災積於其身、以我之矢、射之務盡、使其因饑而瘦、因熱而敗、因苦而滅、害於獸齒、傷於蟲毒、外遭鋒刃、內受驚惶、少男幼女、乳子白叟、淪胥以亡、

愚昧無知之民歟、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、爾其聽此、耶和華曰、我立永命、以沙界海、不得踰防、雖波濤洶湧而不越、漰渤而不踰、爾不畏我、不戰慄於我前乎、

維彼不知不思、其目障翳不見、其心蒙蔽不明、無人想念、無知識、無聰明、不云材木之半、我已焚之以火、烘餅於炭、半以炙肉食之、豈可用其餘者、而作可憎之物、俯伏以拜木榦乎、彼乃食灰、中心昏迷、使之離途、弗能自救、不知自言、我之右手所執、非虛誕乎、○雅各以色列歟、其憶斯事、爾乃我僕、我甄陶爾、以為我僕、以色列歟、我不忘爾、

我曰、此乃貧乏者、愚昧者、不識耶和華之道、不明其上帝之法、我將詣顯者與之言、彼識耶和華之道、明其上帝之法、惟彼同心折軛斷繩、

保爾右手所植之株、為己所固之枝兮、今則被焚見伐、因爾怒容之責、至於滅亡兮、

我民緣無知而見滅、爾棄知識、我亦棄爾、不容為我祭司、爾忘爾上帝法律、我亦忘爾子、

蓋斯民心頑、耳聵、自閉其目、恐目視、耳聽、心悟、轉移而我醫之、

今斧置樹根、凡不結善果者、則斫之、委於火、
