Lord, we are living the way your laws command us to live. We are waiting for you to act. We want your honor and fame to be known.

In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.

Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls.

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look— the Judge is standing at the door!For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.

God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

And I said,“ This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.”But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.

Make this promise, O women of Jerusalem— If you find my lover, tell him I am weak with love.

I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude

O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?

But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.

There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.

As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.

“ But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.

“ Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant— all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God’s eyes, careful to obey all of the Lord’s commandments and regulations.
