it will be the same for priest as for people, for the master as for his servant, for the mistress as for her servant, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor.

Priests and people alike will suffer. So will masters and their servants. And so will women and their female servants. Sellers and buyers alike will suffer. So will those who borrow and those who lend. And so will those who owe money and those who lend it.

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the slave, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.

Priests and laypeople, servants and masters, maids and mistresses, buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers, bankers and debtors— none will be spared.

故我必罰之、祭司庶民、不復置辨、俱降以災、

日時伊邇、災及斯眾、購者毋庸喜、鬻者毋庸憂、鬻者雖保生命、亦不得返於故土、蓋所傳默示、指眾而言、必無不應、維彼惡人、所作者偽、心常戚戚、

由尊逮卑、皆必降格、雖昂首仰視、必使之屈抑。

凡免殺戮者、虜至巴比倫、使為奴婢、世供服役、迨巴西國興。

我儕犯罪作惡、違爾律例、棄爾禮儀、爾臣僕諸先知、藉爾之名、告我王公祖父國民之語、我不聽從、主秉公義、惟我儕猶大人耶路撒冷居民、以色列族眾、無論遐邇、因犯罪愆、為爾驅逐、星散於四方、俱當含羞、今日之事為證。我與我王公列祖、獲罪乎主、必當抱愧蒙羞、

侍衛長擄祭司西勑亞、祭司之次者西番雅、與閽者三人。城中擄轄武士之宦豎一、王之近臣七、軍中之繕寫兼掌民數者一、及民眾六十、咸至哈末之立拉、見巴比倫王、巴比倫王殺之、猶大族被虜之事如此。

牧伯之手、高懸於上、長老之容、失其尊嚴兮。使壯者旋磨、幼穉負薪而偃仆兮。長老不坐門側、少壯不作音樂兮。

先知祭司、蹈於罪愆、殺義人於邑中、故遭此事兮。

故我萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、我必罰汝、殲滅猶大族、凡猶大遺民、其志已定、往居埃及、我將滅之、自尊逮卑、戮以鋒刃、因以饑饉、為人咒詛、駭異、受人凌侮、嗟訝、昔我罰耶路撒冷居民、戮之以鋒刃、因之以饑饉、重之以疫癘、我加刑乎居埃及者、亦若是。

眾祭司長與兆民、效尤異邦、多蹈罪愆、在耶路撒冷、耶和華之殿、業已肅清、復污衊之、其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、使迦勒底王至、在聖室中、戮諸壯士、凡丁男、處女、耆年、耄耋者、俱無所惜、見虜於敵。

荒年未至、約瑟妻、安之祭司波提非拉女亞西納、生二子。

耶和華曰、先知祭司、所行誕妄、在我殿宇、惡跡已彰、故其途幽暗、滑而難行、我驅逐之、使顛蹶趾、屆期降災。撒馬利亞之先知、託巴力之名振振有詞、欲使我民以色列族舛錯、維我洞見其愚。

耶和華與、爾之鑒觀不爽、加以督責、彼不哀慟、殲滅殆盡、彼不受教、彼顏堅於石、不肯歸誠。我自謂、彼貧乏者流、懵然愚昧、不識厥上帝耶和華之道。我必詣世家、與之語、彼庶幾灼知上帝耶和華之道、惟彼折軛斷維、不受約束。彼逆主屢矣、故必死於林中之獅、斃於夤夜之狼、豹守其邑、伏視眈眈、凡出邑者、必被斷傷。

故一日之間、耶和華絕以色列族之眾、自尊逮卑、自喬木至於叢葦、靡不斬伐、具齒爵、其尊者也、為偽師、其卑者也、訓導斯民者、偏頗是尚、為所蠱惑者、淪胥以亡、維彼狂妄之徒、言偽而行惡、故主不悅其丁男、不惜其孤寡、其忿怒猶未息、其降罰猶未已、

以實馬利與同至十人偕起、各持利刃、於席間擊其大利殺之、斯人也、巴比倫王所立為方伯者。

以金及糧與器、貸與外人可索其利、貸爾同儕、則勿若是、凡所作為、可望爾上帝耶和華錫嘏、於爾所得之地。

宗族偕居、勿取其利、宜畏爾之上帝。貸金與粟、毋圖其利、

以是知凡行善者、不論是僕非僕、必受報於主、主之待僕、亦當馭以寛、毋恐喝、因知在天爾亦有主、無分彼此、

萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華又曰、昔我震怒、降災於耶路撒冷居民、今爾欲居埃及、我必震怒、降災於爾、且為人咒詛駭異、受人凌侮嗟訝、不得歸於故土。
