When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.

因為大地之間萬族之民中必像已打過的橄欖樹，已割取完了的葡萄樹，剩下的寥寥無幾。

事情必如此成就在大地之間、萬民之中，就像橄欖樹被搖打，又像葡萄收穫期結束後遺落的殘粒。

地上諸民、將若橄欖之被撼、如摘葡萄之所遺、

斯土之民、既遭斯難、尚有孑遺、若收橄欖果、拾葡萄實、猶留數顆、

斯國於列國中、景象如油果已收、葡萄已摘、留存無幾、

So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest.

That’s how it will be on the earth. And that’s how it will be among the nations. It will be as when workers knock all but a few olives off the trees. It will be like a vine that has only a few grapes left after the harvest.

For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done.

Throughout the earth the story is the same— only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

For so it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, As the shaking of an olive tree, As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over.

For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive- tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people,[ there shall be] as the shaking of an olive tree,[ and] as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

This is what will happen throughout the earth, among the nations. It will be like when they beat an olive tree, and just a few olives are left at the end of the harvest.

For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

Unless the Lord of hosts Had left to us a very small remnant, We would have become like Sodom, We would have been made like Gomorrah.

Therefore say,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ Although I have cast them far off among the Gentiles, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I shall be a little sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”’Therefore say,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’And they will go there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there.Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it.And they will comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause that I have done in it,” says the Lord GOD.

God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,“ Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”?But what does the divine response say to him?“ I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

‘ Those who survive will escape and be on the mountains Like doves of the valleys, All of them mourning, Each for his iniquity.

But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

Yet a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs.

And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel, And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, Will never again depend on him who defeated them, But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, To the Mighty God.For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, A remnant of them will return; The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain, And reaps the heads with his arm; It shall be as he who gathers heads of grain In the Valley of Rephaim.Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, Like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, Four or five in its most fruitful branches,” Says the Lord God of Israel.

and the Lord said to him,“ Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”To the others He said in my hearing,“ Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity.Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.

“ Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries.Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.And they shall know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.”‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say,‘ Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.

“ I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, Like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people.

But yet a tenth will be in it, And will return and be for consuming, As a terebinth tree or as an oak, Whose stump remains when it is cut down. So the holy seed shall be its stump.”

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
