But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say,“ Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

但是你看，人倒歡躍喜樂，宰牛殺羊，喫肉喝酒，說：『只管喫喝吧！因為明天我們就死了！』

看哪！你們卻歡喜快樂，殺牛宰羊，吃肉喝酒，說：「讓我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就要死了。」

乃見欣喜歡忭、宰牛殺羊、食肉飲酒、曰、毋寧式飲式食、蓋明日死矣、

惟爾欣喜歡忭、宰牛殺羊、食肉飲酒、曰、寧圖飲食、明日死至矣。

爾反歡喜宴樂、宰牛殺羊、食肉飲酒、曰、莫若食飲、蓋明日必死矣、

But see, there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine!“ Let us eat and drink,” you say,“ for tomorrow we die!”

Instead, you are enjoying yourselves at wild parties! You are killing cattle and sheep. You are eating their meat and drinking wine. You are saying,“ Let’s eat and drink, because tomorrow we’ll die.”

and behold, joy and gladness, killing oxen and slaughtering sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine.“ Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

But look: joy and gladness, butchering of cattle, slaughtering of sheep and goats, eating of meat, and drinking of wine—“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

Instead, there is joy and jubilation, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine:“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine:“ Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

and, behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: Let us eat and drink, for to- morrow we shall die.

But look: joy and gladness, butchering of cattle, slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat, and drinking of wine—“ Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we shall die.

But look, there is outright celebration! You say,“ Kill the ox and slaughter the sheep, eat meat and drink wine. Eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

and behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating meat and drinking wine:“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die.”

“ Come,” they say,“ let’s get some wine and have a party. Let’s all get drunk. Then tomorrow we’ll do it again and have an even bigger party!”

And what value was there in fighting wild beasts— those people of Ephesus— if there will be no resurrection from the dead? And if there is no resurrection,“ Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

“ When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.“ And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business— eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

They furnish wine and lovely music at their grand parties— lyre and harp, tambourine and flute— but they never think about the Lord or notice what he is doing.

You push away every thought of coming disaster, but your actions only bring the day of judgment closer.How terrible for you who sprawl on ivory beds and lounge on your couches, eating the meat of tender lambs from the flock and of choice calves fattened in the stall.You sing trivial songs to the sound of the harp and fancy yourselves to be great musicians like David.You drink wine by the bowlful and perfume yourselves with fragrant lotions. You care nothing about the ruin of your nation.Therefore, you will be the first to be led away as captives. Suddenly, all your parties will end.

My mind reels and my heart races. I longed for evening to come, but now I am terrified of the dark.Look! They are preparing a great feast. They are spreading rugs for people to sit on. Everyone is eating and drinking. But quick! Grab your shields and prepare for battle. You are being attacked!

You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.

What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.

Now, however, Israel is led by drunks who reel with wine and stagger with alcohol. The priests and prophets stagger with alcohol and lose themselves in wine. They reel when they see visions and stagger as they render decisions.Their tables are covered with vomit; filth is everywhere.
