You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

You built a pool between the two walls. You used it to save the water that was running down from the Old Pool. But you didn’t look to the God who made it all possible. You didn’t pay any attention to the God who planned everything long ago.

You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.

You made a reservoir between the walls for the water of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the one who made it, or consider the one who created it long ago.

And you made a reservoir between the two walls For the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, Nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago.

城終於被攻破了，所有的戰士就在夜間從靠近王的花園的兩牆中間的那門，逃跑出城。那時迦勒底人在四圍攻城；他們就往亞拉巴的方向逃走。

我卻揀選了耶路撒冷，使我的名留在那裡；也揀選了大衛，統治我的子民以色列。’

那些下埃及求幫助，倚靠馬匹，倚靠眾多戰車，依靠十分強壯的馬兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華的，有禍了！

下一段由管理半個伯．夙的區長，押卜的兒子尼希米修築，直到大衛墓地的對面，又到人工池和勇士之家。

到那日，人必仰望他們的創造主，他們必親眼看見以色列的聖者。

猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見了他們，就逃跑，在夜間逃出城外，經過王的花園，穿過兩道城牆中間的門，直往亞拉巴的路上走去。

“那創造、塑造和堅定大地的是耶和華，耶和華是他的名。他這樣說：‘你呼求我，我就應允你，並且把你所不知道的那些偉大奧祕的事告訴你。’

我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的耶和華，我要仰視他。

耶和華說：‘難道你沒有聽見古時我所安排，往昔所計劃的嗎？現在我才使它成就，使堅固的城鎮荒廢，變作亂堆。

那時，先見哈拿尼來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：“因你倚靠亞蘭王，沒有倚靠耶和華你的神，所以亞蘭王的軍隊才可以脫離你的手。古實人和路比人不是有強大的軍隊嗎？戰車和馬兵不是極多嗎？只因你倚靠耶和華，耶和華就把他們交在你手裡。耶和華的眼目遍察全地，一心歸向他的，他必以大能扶助他們；你作這事太愚昧了。從今以後，你必常有戰爭。”

希西家其餘的事蹟和他所有的英勇事蹟，以及他做水池和引水道，把水引入城裡的事，不是都寫在猶大列王的年代誌上嗎？

就與眾領袖和眾勇士商議，要把城外各道水泉堵塞，他們都贊同。於是有一大班人集合起來，堵塞了一切泉源和流通那地的溪流，他們說：“為甚麼要讓亞述王得著充沛的水源呢？”

至於我，我卻要仰望耶和華，我要等候那拯救我的神；我的神必應允我。
