Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

勿恃世人、彼之生氣、僅在鼻中、何足算哉、

斯人也、呼吸之氣、出入於口、安能助人、勿以為可恃。

毋恃世人、世人僅有鼻中出入之生氣、出入之生氣或作呼吸之氣何足算哉、

Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

Stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. They only live for a little while. What good are they?

Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?

Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?

Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?

This is what the Lord says:“ Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.

Do not trust in noblemen, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.

Lord, what is man, that You look after him? Or a son of man, that You think of him?Man is like the breath; His days are like a passing shadow.

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away.

What is man that You think of him, And a son of man that You are concerned about him?

For as long as life is in me, And the breath of God is in my nostrils,

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living person.

So that my soul would choose suffocation, Death rather than my pains.I waste away; I will not live forever. Leave me alone, for my days are only a breath.What is man that You exalt him, And that You are concerned about him,That You examine him every morning And put him to the test every moment?Will You never turn Your gaze away from me, Nor leave me alone until I swallow my spittle?Have I sinned? What have I done to You, Watcher of mankind? Why have You made me Your target, So that I am a burden to myself?Why then do You not forgive my wrongdoing And take away my guilt? For now I will lie down in the dust; And You will search for me, but I will no longer exist.”

of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.

Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, And are regarded as a speck of dust on the scales; Behold, He lifts up the islands like fine dust.

People of low standing are only breath, and people of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up. Together they are lighter than breath.
