For a multitude of the people, many from Ephraim and Manasseh, and Issachar and Zebulun, had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying,“ May the good Lord pardoneveryone who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though not according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.”So the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

And the sons of Israel who were present celebrated the Passover at that time, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.There had not been a Passover celebrated like it in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet; nor had any of the kings of Israel celebrated such a Passover as Josiah did with the priests, the Levites, all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed at them with scorn and mocked them.Nevertheless, some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

You will take up your tambourines again, And go out to the dances of the revelers.Again you will plant vineyards On the hills of Samaria; The planters will plant And will enjoy the fruit.For there will be a day when watchmen On the hills of Ephraim call out,‘ Arise, and let’s go up to Zion, To the Lord our God.’ ”For this is what the Lord says:“ Sing aloud with joy for Jacob, And be joyful with the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say,‘ Lord, save Your people, The remnant of Israel!’Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, Among them those who are blind and those who limp, The pregnant woman and she who is in labor, together; They will return here as a great assembly.They will come with weeping, And by pleading I will bring them; I will lead them by streams of waters, On a straight path on which they will not stumble; For I am a father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.”Hear the word of the Lord, you nations, And declare it in the coastlands far away, And say,“ He who scattered Israel will gather him, And He will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”

Those who err in mind will know the truth, And those who criticize will accept instruction.

They raise their voices, they shout for joy; They cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the Lord.Therefore glorify the Lord in the east, The name of the Lord, the God of Israel, In the coastlands of the sea.

And the Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the Lord, and He will respond to their pleas and heal them.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say,‘ Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord;‘ I will not look at you in anger. For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;‘ I will not be angry forever.Only acknowledge your wrongdoing, That you have revolted against the Lord your God, And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every leafy tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares the Lord.‘ Return, you faithless sons,’ declares the Lord;‘ For I am a master to you, And I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, And bring you to Zion.’

And you made a reservoir between the two walls For the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, Nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago.

Then the sons of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please save us this day.”So they removed the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord; and He could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers as an inheritance.“ Then I said,‘ How I would set you among My sons And give you a pleasant land, The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!’ And I said,‘ You shall call Me, My Father, And not turn away from following Me.’However, as a woman treacherously leaves her lover, So you have dealt treacherously with Me, House of Israel,” declares the Lord.A voice is heard on the bare heights, The weeping, the pleading of the sons of Israel. Because they have perverted their way, They have forgotten the Lord their God.“ Return, you faithless sons, I will heal your faithlessness.”“ Behold, we come to You; For You are the Lord our God.Certainly the hills are a deception, Commotion on the mountains. Certainly in the Lord our God Is the salvation of Israel.

On that day those who are deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of those who are blind will see.The afflicted also will increase their joy in the Lord, And the needy of mankind will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Return, Israel, to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your wrongdoing.Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him,“ Take away all guilt And receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips.Assyria will not save us, We will not ride on horses; Nor will we say again,‘ Our god’ To the work of our hands; For in You the orphan finds mercy.”
