就在那一天夜裏、永恆主的使者就出來，在亞述營中擊殺了十八萬五千人；第二天早晨、人清早起來，哎呀，都是死屍。

你飽受羞辱、不得榮耀。你、也喝吧，好天旋地轉地醉！永恆主右手的杯必轉到你那裏，你的榮耀就變為極羞辱了！你向利巴嫩行的強暴必淹沒你，野獸之毁滅必驚嚇你；因為你殺了人而流其血，又向國內、向都市和其中一切居民行了強暴、的緣故。

他來到亞葉，經過米磯崙；在密抹安放輜重；他們過了隘口，在迦巴露營；拉瑪人發顫，掃羅的基比亞人逃走。迦琳的居民哪，發尖銳聲吧！萊煞人哪，留心聽吧！亞拿突啊，向他應聲吧！瑪得米那人逃跑；基柄的居民逃難。就在今天、亞述王就要在挪伯歇兵了；他就要掄手攻打錫安城的山，耶路撒冷的山岡了。

那時以色列歸永恆主為聖，作為出產中的初熟物；凡吞喫它的都有罪；災禍都必臨到他們：這是永恆主發神諭說的。』

對他說：『希西家這麼說：「今日是有急難、受責罰、受侮慢的日子；就如嬰兒臨到生產的關頭，卻沒有力量生出來。

故此萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝發神諭說：『我指着永活的我來起誓：摩押必像所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都被刺草和鹽坑佔據，荒涼涼到永遠。我剩下的餘民必擄掠他們，我國中餘剩的人必得着他們以為業。這事臨到他們、是因他們的狂傲，自誇自大以攻擊萬軍之永恆主的人民。

永恆主發神諭說：這是你的鬮分，由我量給你的分兒；因為你忘記了我，去倚靠虛假。

這是惡人從上帝得的分兒，是上帝為他定的產業。』

因為永恆主必為他的案件而伸訴；奪取他的、永恆主也必奪取那人的性命。

『永恆主啊，願你的仇敵都這樣滅亡；願愛永恆主的人就像日頭昇現，在發光輝。』這樣，地方就太平四十年。

有禍啊！你這毁滅人者、而自己倒不被毁滅的！你這行詭詐者、而人倒不以詭詐待你的！你剛停止了毁滅人，你自己就要被毁滅了；你剛行完了詭詐，人就以詭詐待你了。

甚至他們也不必從田野上去撿柴，也不必從樹林裏去伐木；因為他們必用軍械去燒火；並且必搶那搶他們的人，劫那劫他們的人；這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

我從那裏經過，啊，已經沒有了；我尋找他，卻找不着。
