“ I will rise up against them”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ and I will cut off from Babylon her reputation, remnant, offspring, and posterity”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of armies,“ and eliminate from Babylon name and survivors, offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.

“ For I will rise up against them,” says the Lord of hosts,“ And cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, And offspring and posterity,” says the Lord.

喪子和寡居這兩件事必在一日之內突然臨到你！你的法術再多，符咒再有威力，這兩件事也必全然臨到你！你依靠自己的惡行，說：『沒有人看見我。』你的智慧和知識把你引入歧途，你心裡就說：『只有我，除我以外再沒有別的！』但災禍必臨到你，你卻不知如何消解；災難必落在你身上，你卻無法贖清；毀滅必突然臨到你，你卻意料不到。堅持施行你的符咒和眾多法術吧！那些都是你從年輕時辛勞所得的，或許你能得益處，或許還能讓人恐懼呢！你因謀劃過多而筋疲力盡；現在就讓那些劃分天象、觀看星辰、在新月時說預言的都站出來吧，拯救你脫離那些將要臨到你的事！看哪！他們必像麥稭一樣被火燒毀，他們不能解救自己脫離威猛的火焰；這不是可以用來取暖的炭火，也不是可以坐在其面前的爐火。

他們從遙遠之地、從天邊而來——耶和華和他憤怒的器皿正來毀滅全地。

看哪，駕駢馬戰車的軍兵來了！」有人應聲說：「傾倒了！巴比倫傾倒了！巴比倫神明的一切雕像都被打碎在地了！」

你們的救贖主，以色列的聖者耶和華如此說：「為你們的緣故，我已經派人到巴比倫去，要把所有的人作為難民帶下來，使迦勒底人的歡聲變為哀歌。
